Donald Trump's impeachment defences seemed damaged by a series of bombshell testimonials that not even his most implacable protectors could easily explain away.
That lasted about 90 minutes.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Republican Party illustrated just how swiftly, and unreservedly, it intends to close ranks around the president and prevent his ouster from office.

Problem is the Fake News simply pops a woody and rush out to publish based on the morning’s Democrat Fascist party press release aka the “opening statements” Then the lie is totally dismantled by the truth that comes out in the actual testimony

So, it was the “Republicans that closed ranks and prevent his ouster...”?
Or was it that the testimony was so easily destroyed that even sleezy outfits like (insert ALL networks and cable outlets here) had to admit that this guy lied, was caught on it, and also just “happened” to have had his wife’s business boycotted by libtards unless he toed the line. (ya know, witness intimidation)?
We should be thankful that Schiff is so completely inept and without measurable abilities of any kind. After all, he is doing the one thing where these qualities are rewarded: Democrat congresscritter.

Exactly right. These hearings have CONFIRMED everything Trump said about the Swamp. The parade of arrogant, power craving functionaries that are aligned against the president has only served to put an indelible face on the bureaucratic army of fanatical resisters.

I get your point but I understand why the Dems thought they might be able to get there. Republicans have a long history of being manipulated by the Dems so, while a guilty verdict in the senate was never likely, it wasn’t out of the realm of possiblity either.
Dems were hoping that something they threw up against the wall might stick and persuade senate Repbublicans to go along with them.
Its not hard to imagine that, with competent leadership, the Dems might have been able to prod a good number of GOP senators to join them. afterall, we have some real losers and never Trumpers in the senate.) We should all be thankful that Schiff was cast in the role as chairman of the Select Committee on Impeachment (will that becomes a standing committee?) and has been roundly exposed for the hack and liar that he is. In that sense the inept Schiff did us a favor.
This is what happens when news is written beforehand.
There were going to be bombshells. Therefore, there had to be bombshells. And, as if by magic, there were bombshells.
Very much like Adam Schiff’s closing statement in which he recaps things that were never said and summarized evidence that never materialized.
