Yesha which you call the WB has a number of farms and tree plantings, all thanks to the Jews.

I realize that "West Bank" is a name given to Judea and Sumeria by enemies of Israel, but more people identify that area, that I've traveled back and forth between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, with "West Bank" than with "Yesha."

I haven't been to any of your desolate places (except S&G) but it's hard to imagine that they could be more desolate than what one sees on that drive to the Dead Sea. Except for Maale Adumim, which gleams on a hill a few miles east of Jerusalem, there are NO signs of life except for two gas stations with their respective neighboring souvenir shop, and some signs to someplace else; NOTHING; no people, no animals no weeds. I haven't been there since April. Maybe the farms have sprung up since then?

As for Sodom and Gomorrah, there is some vegetation there watered by the wadis that sometimes flow from the hills. Once one actually reaches vicinity of the Dead Sea, there are multiple signs of life.

IDK where you are driving but you are on the wrong road(s)

Route 1. It's kinda the main road from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea. What other road(s) would you suggest (where I don't need to worry about murderous A-rabs) ?

Don’t worry Climate Change and the Green New Deal will change that area. /s...or maybe a BIG earthquake and a river that flows from Jerusalem?

Heh, LOL.

Well, I’d like to flee from Judea towards the mountains when the time comes (whenever that is). According to the words of Jesus. Matthew 24 if memory serves.

Yeah, I never heard the live quote.

The liberals are pretty desperate for any fake news they can generate these days.

I am embarrassed at how little I know of quotes from the books of the bible.

And at 51, I need to get on top of that more or i’m gonna have some splaining to do when I die.

I think i have always had SOME level of ADD, and I don’t like the whole “everything’s an illness” trope, but unless i’m quite tired, it’s hard for me to read anything besides a short article.

But that’s no excuse because reading 10 minutes of the bible every day would add up fast.

I’m going to hell :(

I believe ya. Somehow people in Judea are going to flee to the mountains (Jordan, I suppose) - Petra.

Matthew 24:15-18 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Great Tribulation

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.

I will add you to my prophecy ping lists and try to ping ya when I do other stuff. It might be nothing for two months and then 3 or 4 in a single day.

BTW, check out my FR homepage - I have a few clickable links - I think I have them pop out in a new tab.

Welcome aboard! I’ll toss out a random one I use just to help ya get a bit more. We’ll get there!

Revelation 14:9-12 King James Version (KJV)

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

(now this part just talks about them (eventually reigning) during the Millennial Reign of Christ)

Revelation 20:4 King James Version (KJV)

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Are the different versions worded differently or are they all pretty much the same.

I have said for some time that we need a threat here for people who believe but have questions that make them have some doubt AND for people who can answer these questions and put them to rest.

I think those with questions feel pressured to not ask here for fear they will be seen as non believing..

In fact, any reasonable answers to the questions would help another’s faith a lot

Try to stick to what are called "equivalent" translations. As close to word-for-word they can get.

When you see a King James, in the New Testment oftentimes, you will see italicized words. There are not in the original texts but are extra words to try to make the passage flow more smoothly.

For example, when they come to arrest Jesus, He says "I am He" but He really only said "I am" in the base text - which has a lot of meaning in and of itself ("I am" is the name of God given to Moses - "I am that I am").

So stick with KJV, NKJV, RSV, ESV, NASB (which does other things but that's a separate issue). The NIV is an "dynamic" translation. But it's great in many passages (Like Isaiah 3:9).

AVOID paraphrases such at the New Living Translation, the Living Bible, "the Book" (IIRC) etc.

John 18:3-8 King James Version (KJV)

3 Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.

4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?

5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, >>>>>I am he<<<<<. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

6 As soon then as he had said unto them, >>>>>I am he<<<<<, they went backward, and fell to the ground.

7 Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.

8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

The new living translation..what is that?

The Constitution and The Bible are both dead.

Long live both of them.

By dead I mean the words weren’t supposed to be interpreted differently with each generation and what was said was meant.

Who is narcissistic enough to think they know what the words REALLY meant?
