The historic impeachment proceedings against President Trump are big news in Russia. And there is little question which side the government — or the influential TV networks it controls — is on.
Asked about the impeachment hearings, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov coyly replied: “It’s none of our business, we would prefer not to comment.” But he then immediately contradicted himself by attempting to discredit the inquiry: “Let's just say that there are a lot of far-fetched things, various scandalous stories, where Russia was mentioned, where, in fact, there are very few — negligibly few — facts that have any relation to truth and reality. We’re not going to comment on everything happening right now with the impeachment.”
Kremlin-funded Russian state television has openly sided with Trump throughout the Ukraine scandal and even during the events that led up to it. For months on end, Dmitry Kiselyov, the host of a Sunday news show called “Vesti Nedeli” (or “The Weekly News”) on state-controlled television station Rossiya-24, encouraged Trump’s push for a Ukrainian investigation of former vice president Joe Biden and his son, ...

In Russia the President controls the media. No fake news.
I fail to understand why what the Russians think of this is relevant to anything.
Perhaps they are just able to spot a BS story when they see it.
US news is world news. Especially an impeachment hearing.
All normal humans are, not just Russians.
Now that the Russians have embraced Christianity (or at least the form of Christianity), all of a sudden WaPo sounds like a bunch of 1950s era Right Wingers.

LOL. Wapo evaluates everything based on own standard.
Bunch of rectums. He wasn’t defending President Trump, he was defending Mother Russia.
It would’ve been funnier than hell if Peskov would’ve ended his statement with, “Oh, and one more thing, Epstein didn’t kill himself.”
That’s exactly how I took it. The Compost is taking things way out of context in order to fit their narrative.
But then, the only thing consistent about Libturds is their inconsistency.
I think that in the several meetings that have taken place so far between Trump and Putin, Trump told Putin precisely where the proverbial bear defacated in the buckwheat; and man to man, let him know what’s expected of they’re going to get along. And Putin respects that. It’s really quite simple.
