I’m one of those who’s gonna try to wait this dickhead out.
Wait, I shouldn’t have said that. Speaking ill of the Holy father is a venal sin. Oh well, I’ll mention it next time I go to Confession. I’ll mention that I did speak badly of him but am not asking for forgiveness.
I’m one of those who keeps waiting for better days. Will that happen? Hard to say. But I’m not ready to run from this crap he’s been spewing.
I can’t think of a decent alternative right now. I’m really not evangelically inclined and the other options (with a few localized exceptions) such as Episcopal, Lutheran, etc aren’t doing much better.
My wife is Episcopalian and has tried to convert me for a number of years - but I won’t bite. I go with her to service every now and then but roll my eyes when i hear some of the sermons.
If someone is a manifest public heretic, is it possible for that person also to be Pope? Does public persistence in heresy, and public proclamation of heresy, carry with it a penalty of excommunication laetae sententiae
Just curious ...
Agree with you. I focus on the Eucharist and Marian devotion. I see no other alternative except to stay and call him out. He is left wing and tool of antichrist spirit.
LCMS. Like any other denomination, it may go to the dark side someday, but not today.
If Orthodox churches weren't so ethnocentric, that would also be a viable alternative.
Lutheran Church MISSOURI SYNOD is where you should find your home.
The Episcopal Church is part of the corrupt National Council of Churches, which is as apostate as the Catholic Church.
You mean, the sermons that dont distinguish
between illegal parasitic grifters and legal
immigrants?
The ones that equate refugees with the
Holy Family?
The ones from pulpits draped in rainbow
bunting?
I haven’t left. Yet.
But I am a realist, and perhaps a fatalist, that as an absolute dictator this guy is fully capable of transforming the Church into something I don’t want to be a part of.
To deny that reality is to become his enabler.
But, as Jerry Seinfeld rightly observed, its not like changing toothpastes.
