Is This a Joke? Washington Post Writer Wonders if the GOP can

Yes, the featured image is that of an anti-Trump protest after the 2016 election. Liberals went nuts in the streets. Protests, setting things on fire, and yelling into the clouds—it’s typical behavior from these people who think they’re entitled to win every election. Sorry, real America punched you in the mouth. Since 2016, there have been other Democrats who have simply refused to concede their election losses. Stacey Abrams in Georgia is a prime example, where she thinks voter suppression is what caused her to lose. It had nothing to do with her 50,000+-vote deficit to Republican Gov. Brian Kemp. And she to this day hasn’t conceded. In fact, she has declared that Democrats don’t have to concede elections anymore for reasons that are just too stupid to air out. You can read for it yourself. There’s only so much ‘woke’ nonsense that I can take. I bring this up because The Washington Post ran a piece questioning if the GOP can ever accept election results they don’t like after the 2019 elections:

One occasionally hears liberals muse that even if Trump were to lose next year, he might simply refuse to vacate the White House. This seems a highly unlikely scenario, especially since there may be nothing Trump fears more than public humiliation. Instead, what is far more likely is that Trump would not have to be physically removed from the Oval Office, but would — starting immediately after Election Day and continuing into his post-presidential life — undertake a campaign to discredit the results.

[…]

The most important question is: If he’s back at Mar-a-Lago furiously tweeting about how much he was wronged, will anyone care? Or will he succeed in leading his voters to refuse to accept that the election was proper simply because they didn’t like it?

Some of those supporters certainly won’t accept it. They’ve been trained by Trump and other Republicans over and over to reject anything that challenges their faith in Trump’s godlike perfection. Newspaper reports behind-the-scenes chaos in the White House? It’s “fake news.” Poll says Trump’s approval rating is down? They just made the numbers up. As Trump told supporters last July, “Just remember, what you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening.” They’ve had years of practice constructing a mental world made up only of “facts” that support their existing views.

[…]

…perhaps the most important factor will be how Republican officeholders react. Will they distance themselves from the defeated Trump, or will they continue to quake in fear of his supporters? After four years of doing the latter, do they remember how to do anything else?

If those Republicans send a message that the election’s outcome was unfortunate but not cause for a revolution, things could calm down quickly. But I fear they may not have it in them, that the way they tried to delegitimize Barack Obama will be not half as bad as what they have in store for the next Democratic president. Trump might not have the attention span to lead a revolution, but Republicans know how to spend years sabotaging a president. As depressing as it is to say, that might be the best outcome we can hope for.

Okay—what the hell is this? The operative word in the headline is “relearn.” Relearning how to accept political outcomes that Republicans don’t like. We never had that issue. Again, this is an issue that’s exclusive to liberal America, which has resisted Trump in all aspects of socio-political life. In government, there is an anti-Trump deep state that runs through some of the most prominent institutions in the country, from the Department of Justice to the secretive intelligence community. The author uses Matt Bevin’s probable election defeat in his gubernatorial re-election bid in Kentucky as some harbinger of what could come if Trump loses in 2020. First, as of now, Trump won’t lose. Second, the author admits Bevin has every right to contest the results, which are razor-thin.

“To be clear, Bevin is perfectly within his rights to hold off on a concession; eventually he’ll have to either prove that something went seriously wrong or give up.” Oh, and then references Stacey Abrams’s post-2018 antics. This is Trump Derangement Syndrome. There is no proof that Trump won’t concede, and those who think he won’t have yet to catch the appallingly sarcastic tone that’s inherent in the delivery of the remark. Trump knows if he says this, the liberal media will go nuts. And without fail these morons prove him right.

More projection from the Left. These days, EVERY speculative story about Republicans is simply a cover for something that Democrats already did and is about to get discovered.

“The rest of the title is: Accept Election Results They Don’t Like”

That’s exactly what Cankles said to candidate Trump when they had a debate.

when you post an article with a title truncated due to length, please post the title either above the article, or in the first line of the comment if you are limited to a short excerpt. It just eases the burden on the rest of us to figure out what the article is about before we read it.

Thanks from the peonage around here.

Wow. Talk about projection. The “Progressives” have perfected it. Remember “Selected, Not Elected” Bush 43.

Relearning how to accept political outcomes that Republicans don’t like.

The outcome that RINOs don't like is ending up with a majority so that they have to govern. The dems are like the guys who run your HOA, busy body tyrants who have no business running anything. The RINOs on the other hand hate governing. It's work and they hate work. They just want to sit back, and let the dems have anything they want, so long as the RINOs get a slice of the action.

Think I'm wrong? Just watch them.

They already believe the election is in the bag and whoever the Democrat nominee is will cruise to victory.

They view 2016 as a fluke, and they think 2020 will get America back on the socialist/globalist track.

Oh no, it's not projection we're seeing here, it's boot camp for the next batch of crybabies in the streets. And it doesn't matter if Trump wins or not, it's if the GOP wins anything, anywhere.

It's a signed and sealed permission slip to act like a toddler who was refused getting a sweet in the checkout aisle.

After all, the GOP would be doing this if the liberals won, so therefore you can preemptively do it to them when they win.

Oh, and while you're at it, scope out some of the businesses in the area where you'll protest just in case it turns into a break and carry protest against the evil corporations who are enslaving you.

Remember: The enabling of violently attacking Trump supporters at rallies were the fake stories of Trump supporters attacking. ‘Listen, even though there's 80,000 cameras at this event, the Republithugs were beating up brave old women who were standing up for the right to [murder babies.]’ ‘They were beating up anyone who looked Mexican’, etc.

Yep, not a projection, not a worry, but instead a call to the basement militia to rise up with clubs and chains to beat the GOP for daring to breathe.

Of course they project. However it is sick people who project. The time has come to stop tolerating the attacks of the deranged and fight back woth force and real intent. Where are the indictments of Comey, Brennan, McCabe, Lynch, Clapper and the rest? Why aren’t Hunter Biden and Paul Pelosi being aggressively investigated and arrested? Why is the President, who is the CEO of these agencies tolerating a toxic deep state the third year into his Presidency and not making preemptive wholesale firings Hint if hired by Obama, fire quickly. Time to act.

Unbelievable. The Dems have deep-sixed the long tradition of the peaceful transfer of power in the US and they posit Republicans will do that. They have upended our Republic and work to completely destroy it with every breath. Just insane.

America can accept a valid election result that they don't like.

An election where illegals have voted, GOP or conservative ballots are missing, destroyed or altered, or shady voting locations are kept open late after 90-99% of the numbers are reported? Burn in the hell of your own creation, lefties.

The thought that occurred to me is that the Democrats are trying to reinstitute the British form of Government. They believe that the US should be a Parliamentarian form of government instead of the Constitutional Republic that we are. Examples? First, they are using “bills of attainder” used in the British system, where the legislature “declares a person or group of persons guilty of some crime and punishing them, often without a trial”. Case in point, issuing a subpoena for Mack Mulvaney, Trump’s Chief of Staff, eleven hours before he ordering him to appear, and then claiming “obstruction” when he does not show. Secondly, the Democrats believe that they can issue a vote of “loss of confidence” in President Trump, and replace him without an election. Perhaps the “Redcoats” are coming again. We all remember what happened the last time. The Left wants to throw away the US Constitution and become a mob rule.

I, and many others ACCEPTED THE HORRIBLE RESULTS OF THE 2008 AND MORE QUESTIONABLE 2012 RESULTS.

And the Washington Post has a NERVE even asking that.

We, are civilized people. Not the NUT CASES that the dims have become.

Do they think we LIKED those results.

The psychological projection form the left is becoming comical. They can't help themselves. They are mentally ill.

Here is how it works: "I can't stand the results of the last election and I refuse to accept it so therefore they ( on the right ) must be just like me and I will point that out as a defensive tactic even though there is no evidence of such."
