**I do not overlook the fact that the vicious dictator Stalin killed lots and lots of Russians, but that is not relevant ot the Russian occupation of Poland **

It took me 65 years to let go of the hatred I had for the Japanese who killed my uncle in the Pacific.

I will probably die still hating Stalin for what he did to our great-great Ukrainian Grandfather and his family farm.

So, I don’t share the same thought process as you do. 5 million Ukrainians, most of them peasants. Haw many is enough? ///rhetorical

Why Stalin? Ukrainian Commies did that to their compatriots and now blaming Russians for that. If you notice the same thing is now happening again in Ukraine. No Russians in sight but government thugs are robbing farmers blind.

Ukraine is similar to Poland in that regard.

A few years back I had the pleasure of reading Churchill’s history of the Second World War — all six volumes. From that reading I gained a great appreciation (understanding) for what the USSR did in that war, and also for what Britain did those first terrible few years.

Churchill was very unhappy with the final result of that war re: USSR (hence title of final volume — Triumph and Tragedy). It was the USA that was not interested in constraining USSR and saving eastern Europe. Then again, perhaps USA was correct, because I doubt the US could beat Russia in a real fighting war. Like you say, US gets upset over just a few deaths. On top of that, US, like Western Europe, seems to have a prejudice against Eastern Europe. Slavs and Russians are treated like ugly stepchildren.

Actually, I was thinking that it’s coming here. After all is said and done, what’s happening in this country will not end well. There will be push back. Hard.

We, too, are fighting against the same types, whatever they’re called.

I follow a guy in Crete and one in Venezuela. In Venezuela, there are now hit squads, with rumors that they’re Cuban.

The guy in Crete is protected by being in the country and all manner of dogs.

Some people here seem like don’t realize that Russians didn’t fund floating a nuclear sub once a couple weeks between 1969 and 1989 for nothing and 50 thousand nuclear warheads on top of this. They would easily destroy the whole world outside Russia out of the fear of being invaded. It is imprinted in a national psyche forever. For that reason alone modern US foreign policy like NATO expansion in Europe is borderline insane.

——It is imprinted in a national psyche forever. ——

Aaahhh, there you have it. Defense has always been the key to the Russian effort. The devastation must never happen again.

Regarding NATO, I don’t really disagree. The fear and need for defense cuts both ways though and is the reason for NATO. The bear growled, a bluff.

I like to take a very long view of history. I have come to believe some Darwinian survival of the fittest evolutionary biology is presently at work. The fittest men in Germany, France, Russia and maybe UK were killed and not available for breeding. In Germany, both Russian and American genes of the conquerors were introduced into the pool.

If we are racist and it is OK when thinking in Darwinian terms the hodgepodge of Russians entering Germany were racially inferior to the solid Germanic stock. The result today is a Germany totally incapable of aggression. There is some question that Germany can even defend its self.

Meanwhile in Russia, Vladimir Putin ‘s main task is curing the very sickly Mother Russia. Once again, the men with strong genes were killed off. The result is a country that has difficulty functioning.

The genetic deterioration of Western Europe has allowed a more genetically fit invasion from the Mid East and Africa. It is actually a genetic seepage. The existing population is genetically weak and can’t be motovated to put up a proper defense. Europe is actually doomed.

Ifyou have money in Europe, move it to Dubai or Singapore...... east of Suez is the furure

It is a very twisted take. Modern historians believe that Stalin had no intention to move beyond USSR border during WWII with major goal to evict the Germans. It was Churchill’s idea to offer Stalin unopposed control over Eastern and Central Europe to keep the allianve to the very end.

The Soviets and Germans STARTED WW2 by plotting to divide up Poland.

No

The Germans started WW2 by moving troops into the Rhineland, annexing/invading Austria, and invading/annexing Czechoslovakia, all prior to the non-agression pact with Russia.

Well, the US army liberated Pilsen in CZ. Were mere 150 km from Prague.
However, they waited, I think couple of weeks, to see the Red Army take over Prague.

Don’t forget, CZ had 7-th biggest economy in the world before WWII.
I don’t think the west appreciated that fact and was more than happy to let the Russkies destroy it.

Non-aggression pact is anything but an alliance. The name itself hints it and the terms of the pact too.

The children, too? You must be Czech. Enough said.

Well, genius, I don’t expect any better from some carbon unit like you.

True. And we shall never know, had Hitler not struck first, whether Stalin might have...well, you know what happened to Finland in 1939 and to Bessarabia and northern Bukovina in 1940.
After all, these three territories had been part of the Russian Empire before 1918...

I can tell you that I wouldn't have trusted the Soviet leader any further than I could have tossed him.

Oh, so I guess there were no children killed in bombing of Dresden. What, up to 130,000 civilians dead (estimated)? No factories, no strategic objects. Just tons of refuges from other bombed out cities. But that's just fine and dandy, eh?

BTW, those are bodies...

I know this photo all too well. Believe me, sir.

And I also know about the circumstances. I am now somewhat surprised, however, that now you seem to mind those children who were lost in the Dresden raid.

I am puzzled. Sorry about it, but I am.

Obviously, this will be when Trump and Putin discuss their strategy for getting Trump re-elected. This is because Putin knows with absolute certainty that Trump will have more flexibility after the election. /s

No I do not, but all I read is, criticizing Russians what animal they where.
Anyone else had a license to kill indiscriminately.

Sure used to hate Russians as much as anyone. But those days are long gone.

On the other hand, I think I understand how they felt about the German atrocities in Russia.

That is all.
And no, I do not feel sorry for the Germans one bit.
You reap, what you sow...
