Boston’s city council is getting a new look: its first female majority and a more racially diverse lineup than ever before.
Voters on Tuesday elected the council’s first Latina. They also voted in a slate of female candidates.
Starting in January, the 13-member council will have eight women. Seven councilors will be minorities, the council’s most ever.
Asian American city councilor Michelle Wu says it’s the “new face” of Boston politics.
Voters also rejected a ballot question to change the name of Dudley Square in historically black Roxbury to Nubian Square.

Appears a lot of the white Bostonians are moving to where I live if seeing all the Boxos and Patriots bumper stickers on cars is an indication.
The left hates Whites.

The American media is so obsessed with race, it’s unbelievable.
Why is this a national article? Who cares about the Boston City Council?
Working class whites started to flee in the 70’s when they did forced busing.
My parents left Southie in the late 40s...we haven’t looked back.

The framers designed it so this shouldn’t be an issue. The citizens elect the candidates they want, based on whatever criteria the voters choose.
Great. It allows government to change.
The problem is, women and minorities are taught, indoctrinated to hate white men. The media cheers this on, as if it’s a death match. And, to be honest, at some point it may become a death match.
Keep your powder dry.
Why is this a national article? Who cares about the Boston City Council?
You may not be concerned about race but race is concerned about you.

Soooooooooooooo how about you demonstrate that you can run a clean competent city government free of graft, corruption, debt, and inefficiency.
Not that Boston has been that way in maybe 160 years, but it will be a better legacy other than “you skin isnt white and/or you have a vag”.
I am sure they still have the crummiest drivers.
New York drivers were aggressive. Boston’s were insane.
The good news is that the Boston media won’t have to waste their time with investigative journalism.
The new City Council is just so special!

I could never square electing Barney Frank and Ted Kennedy and claiming the schools are good.
“Whites have become complacent.”
That’s possibly one of the great truths of our times.
