America's religion of anti-racism reaches peak absurdity
The Hill ^ | October 29, 2019 | Heather Mac Donald

America’s religion of anti-racism has reached peak absurdity, with anti-racist gestures now themselves defined as discrimination. A recent controversy in Madison, Wisc., exemplifies the contradictions required to feed the narrative of America’s endemic bigotry.

A black senior at West High School in Madison allegedly stole another student’s cell phone on October 9. The alleged thief then pushed an assistant principal who tried to intervene; she called for assistance. A black security guard, Marlon Anderson, tried to escort the student out of the building; the student let fly a race-based tirade, calling Anderson the N-word and a slew of racial epithets. Anderson, repeating the word, told the student to “Stop calling me that.” The assistant principal started recording the interaction on her walkie-talkie — to document not the student’s insubordination but, rather, Anderson’s.

Anderson had violated the Madison Metropolitan School District’s (MMSD) zero-tolerance policy toward the N-word. Any iteration of the word, with whatever intent, by school staff would result in the user’s firing. According to Interim School Superintendent Jane Belmore, the district adopted the policy in order to “unequivocally protect” black students.

At least six MMSD teachers and staff members were fired or forced to resign over the last year for mentioning the N-word in front of students. The district has refused to discuss the circumstances of their removal. But the Madison teachers union says it is unaware of any instance where a staff member or teacher used the word to refer to students with derogatory intent. In one case, a teacher in an alternative high school was reading from a book that contained the word. (The district would not say what book.)

None of these firings and resignations triggered protests, and the race of those teachers and staff members is not known. The removals were welcomed by Madison’s activists.

The black student/thief who called the security guard the n-word should be punished as severely as a white student would be. It is wrong to usual racial epithets, but if blacks are so traumatized by them, why do they listen to rappers who spew them?

“Double standards” is a required trait to become a progressive.

But public schools, in their never ending efforts to out stupid everyone has introduced the “triple standard” which has absolutely no meaning at all.

Just like public schools.

Led of course, by that bottom of the SAT collection of excrement, the NEA.

“America’s religion of anti-racism reaches peak absurdity”

I can imagine much worse absurdity. Eventually, all America will be divided into just two categories: Democrats, and racists.

Typical leftist:
** "pro-civil rights" voting to stop the civil rights movements while claiming those that support it stopped it.
** "anti-police protesters" supporting gun regulations on citizens where only police can carry weapons.
** "pro-Palestinian" supporting their right to execute the LGBTQ while supporting the LGBTQ at home
** "anti-nazi supporting the father of "Democratic socialism" Eduard Bernstein whom originally supported "the Jewish Question" the foundation of national socialists

Americans are not racist. We are a live and let live people. When Americans speak out against ghetto thugs and criminals it is not because of race. It is about crime. For some of us who have been victims of that crime, it is not an abstract concept.

The First Amendment exists to protect all of us. What would Dave Chapelle say about this? I think I know.

It’s sorta sad, in a funny way, that, unlike peak oil, or average human life, or the 3 minute mile, or the limits of light speed, there is no such thing as peak human stupid.

I spent my early years in a neighborhood (South Bronx) where if you didn’t have a racial slur attached to your name (preceded by “dirty”), you were being discriminated against. You just were too unimportant as to merit name-calling.

And you know what? Ten minutes after a racial band-and-forty, we were all playing together. No adults; no activists and no lawyers.

You might be right if you are referring to current urban black culture. But the ‘n-word’ was used a lot. The black part of town had the word applied to it pretty much unconsciously. The term Saturday night special originally started with “n-town”

It was also used as a substitute in the phrase ‘jury-rigged’ . It certainly wasn’t meant as a compliment, but it really wasn’t a deadly insult either back in the day. It was considered impolite and well-mannered people wouldn’t use in front of black people.

General Pershing got his start commanding black troops whom he had many nice things to say about. This earned him an army nickname which is now recounted as ‘Black Jack’. There’s even a Missouri town named that in his honor. But that wasn’t his real nickname.

The double standards began in earnest in the 60s and 70s

One-way “racism”
Victimology
“Affirmative Action”
“Remedies” for “prior discrimination”
Desegregating entire districts with “busing” “magnet schools” et al
Quotas
“Preferences”
White Guilt & Cowardice (especially with other peoples’ money)

Plus excuse-making for test scores, underperformance in the classroom and place of employment, and bigotry against whites, Christians, males, heterosexuals in the name of “Diversity”

Witnessing this crapola first hand is the primary reason for my screen name.

The hypocrisy stinks to High Heaven and has for decades

If one won’t compete, one doesn’t belong. Now look at where this scaredy-catiness has gotten America

How much more evidence is needed to convince people that this dysfunctional marriage between blacks and white ain’t working.

Isn’t way past time for a friendly separation?

The assistant principal's behavior was typical of a fanatical bureaucratic functionary.

A rule freak, the assistant principal's only concern is that a rule was violated and she was dutifully complying with another rule stating that violations must be reported.

To not do so places her in grave danger of being busted back down to teacher... a job she was desperate to escape from.

“jury-rigged”

If it’s the same word I’m thinking of, the politer phrase was “Afro-engineering.”

This is a load of what a matador steps in.

The policy was adopted for one reason only: so a bunch of progressive phonies who (by definition) don't give an excrement about anyone but themselves -- tht is inherent in progressivism-- could virtue signal, feel good about themselves, and demand that everyone else do the same.

They're fake, phony frauds, and their transparent hypocrisy is offensive. Stop pretending you care, you arrogant frauds, because we know better.

You can’t punish blacks for criminal acts. They might stop committing so many criminal acts, and then the “progressive” slavemasters won’t be able to control them.
