Smugglers are sawing through new sections of Trump’s border wall

Smuggling gangs in Mexico have repeatedly sawed through new sections of President Trump’s border wall in recent months by using commercially available power tools, opening gaps large enough for people and drug loads to pass through, according to U.S. agents and officials with knowledge of the damage.

The breaches have been made using a popular cordless household tool known as a reciprocating saw that retails at hardware stores for as little as $100. When fitted with specialized blades, the saws can slice through one of the barrier’s steel-and-concrete bollards in a matter of minutes, according to the agents, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the barrier-defeating techniques.

After cutting through the base of a single bollard, smugglers can push the steel out of the way, allowing an adult to fit through the gap. Because the bollards are so tall — and are attached only to a panel at the very top — their length makes them easier to push aside once they have been cut and are left dangling, according to engineers consulted by The Washington Post.

I dont read any of them myself.

I see the title, look at the excerpt. Roll my eyes, and wait 2 days for the retraction, the debunking, or for people to forget the article even existed. So it never honestly affects me.

Some people here almost still make-out with these outlets and will then talk your ear off about how “worthless they are”. That’s just media Stockholm Syndrome at that point.

Another reason to man and patrol any border wall. A side benefit will be that you get an entrenched federal bureaucracy whose job consists of manning and patrolling the border wall - get that in place and the wall will never go away. Federal employees know how to grow their fiefdoms.

Better than nothing, but not nearly good enough.

You and are in full agreement on that one.

“”This will allow the US to station agents tactically to round up the illegals.””

Make better targets coming through in one place...After the first one, all others would turn around to find another hole!
Repeat at next hole!

A better way is with sensors to detect when the wall is being sawed through.

At first glance I read that as:

A better way is with senators to detect when the wall is being sawed through.

I'm reminded of the Vishnoi who hugged trees to prevent the maharajah from felling trees. The were chopped down with the trees.

We had a construction business for many years and we routinely cut through concrete and steel. I wondered about this and thought that Trump being a builder might have something special to prevent this. Probably ought to turn on the electricity and add the moat filled with alligators.

If this really is an issue, I would imagine that a range of technical solutions are already waiting to be implemented.

Ditto what you said. If true it is a flaw. If is true that is.

I find the description of the ease of sawing then bending to be quite implausible.

Another Brennan led CIA remnant ordering their owned asset Bezos (he had a father in the CIA) to direct WAPO to write a script that the Wall is a failure, therefore Trump is a failure.

This is the first of many.

Note WAPO is citing ‘anonymous’ agents refusing to back up their bullsh*t with locations where photos can be taken to confirm their bullsh*t because that’s what it is.

I wonder if loose sand in them wouldn’t be more effective than poured concrete.

Anybody can drive down to the border and take pictures of the bollard fencing and publish the photos of any sections that have allegedly been cut. I did not see any of the aforementioned cut sections in the fake news article. Draw your own conclusions.

There should be an abundance of elecrptricity supply since they can’t send it to Northern California.
