I understood the comment on fascism as being simply terminology distiction. A general term to describe total government control is “Totalitarianism”, which I think von Hayek used as he showed there was no difference in the path of the German form or the Soviet form on “The Road to Serfdom”. Your observation about a “market face” and the “appearance of independent owners” is exactly how I understand Nazism.
The brutality is the same no matter what system or terminology is used to justify it. That we call “tyranny”. The Democrats will continue down the Road to Serfdom. I cannot imagine how it might be stopped. If the term “communism” which was Marx’ ideal that the workers all own and share everything in the economy and make production decisions by voting, which idea is commonly hidden by Democrats under the term “democracy”, if that term shares the ignominy of the term “fascism” they simply substitute any other newspeak term they like.

If you find an attribution (good luck and let us know please) the quote would not mean what we are projecting on to it. If anyone has a copy of the Communist Manifesto please weigh in. Socialism was the idea of using government structure to bring about the eventual workers paradise. But then, the members of the communes, all the workers would share and participate and ultimately government would no longer be necessary. So the goal of the temporary government programs, socialism, is the ultimate and inevitable progress, progressivism, toward the worker’s paradise, communism.
It’s also a country with over two thousand years of treating itself and it’s people like dirt. I’ve no sympathy for them.
