Both Romney and Lindsey say it would be terrible if there were quid pro quo between aid to Ukraine and “campaign help”. Ok, so why are they not holding hearings to interview the players in public where the nation can see? Why are they leaving the task to Adam Schiff, with secret hearings?
As Rand Paul said, all the people Schiff is interviewing in secret could be called before Lindsey’s committee in the Senate to testify in public, so the American people can know what’s going on
During watergate there were senate and house hearings. The senate didn’t surrender its oversight role - remember Sen Sam Ervin?
Why have Mitch, Lindsey and other senate gop leaders decided that they’ll leave the work to Adam Schiff? They like and trust Adam scoff?
What work? Pseudo, unauthorized, unvoted for, impeachment questions with invalid subpoenas?
Amen, the Senate should ignore what the Democrats are doing in the House because the MSM would tell the world that the Senate finally sees the seriousness of the charges and is investigating also.

Perhaps they’re actually on the same side as Adam Schiff.

No, they’d hold hearings and show this is a fraud. If the House impeachers there will have to be a senate trial - but the only transcripts they’ll have are Schiff’s biased hearings
Everybody who has been made to testify in secret by Schiff should be brought before the senate, now, to talk in public. The star chamber must end
Because that would lead to the Quisling Members of Congress on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the Gang of Eight Members being exposed as Original Members of the Seditious Conspiracy to Overthrow the United States Government.

Why would the Senate do that?
The house holds most of the cards right now.
They don’t have a legitimate impeachment going (despite what the media is pushing to the public) so they are holding hearings as a fishing expedition. They probably wont find anything impeachable and they will probably impeach anyway but since it’s not an impeachment yet, the Senate can’t do anything about it and it’s not their roll to execute micromanaged oversight over the house, so they can’t do much but wait it out, just like Trump does, and then go to work when the time has come.
The committee investigations are meant to do harassment work against Trump, mostly in the media, but also as personal duress. What can the Senate do by wasting their own time following every train the house goofs create???

Why would the Senate do that?
To stop the secretive star chamber. Everybody who has testified in secret should be made to testify in the open. And the whistleblower should be called.
Not doing this is to acquiesce in Schiff’s lynching of the president

That same question has been haunting me since the House has removed Republicans from the investigation. The President’s phrase, “witchhunt” is exactly right. If the House has no rules protecting the accused, then the Senate must counter.
