The cease-fire established between Turkey and Syria with the help of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Vice President Mike Pence was an "amazing accomplishment," but the situation is not yet fully rectified, Karl Rove said Thursday on "The Daily Briefing."
"It's a pretty amazing accomplishment by Pompeo and Pence to get the cease-fire," he said.

Rove’s deeper message seems to be a slap at Trump, like we’ll be fine with a President Pence after impeachment. (just me doing my own version of ‘paraphrasing’)
Seems to me he is trying divert compelling vindication of Trump’s actions.

If he is telegraphing everything will be fine with Pence replacing Trump, what’s that supposed to tell us about Pence? I wouldn’t like that implication.

Just whom does he think SENT Pompeo and Pence?? Donna Brazile, this evening on FOX news, praised those two. She just could not give Trump the credit! When someone pointed it out to her, she made some obviously begrudging grunt of acquiescence.
Obviously Pompeo and Pence did some good work, but they did it by the orders of President Trump.

I read something that purported to be Trump’s letter to Erdogan. At the time, there was some speculation whether it wasn’t a set up to catch a leaker.
Anyway, I’m as happy as anyone for the win. And I never doubted for a moment that it was Trump calling the shots.
Pence and Pompeo still deserve credit for carrying out the president’s instructions so capably. I haven’t checked Trump’s latest tweets, but I’m sure he will commend them both.
That’s his leadership style — demand a lot but give plenty of credit for a job well done.

Just guessing but I’d say Rove feels Pence is manageable and predictable. The “Deep State” could manipulate Pence, whereas President Trump they can’t control.
Well I’d lean somewhere along those lines. Not good.
I may be wrong, but I don’t recall Rove saying one good word about Trump.
