Nigel Farage attacks Boris Johnson's deal and says he would rather delay Brexit than accept it
The Telegraph ^ | 17 October 2019 | Christopher Hope

Nigel Farage yesterday attacked Boris Johnson's deal and said that he would rather delay leaving the European Union than accept the Prime Minister's new treaty.

The Brexit Party leader also came under fire after attacking Jean-Claude Juncker for saying the EU should not agree to delay the UK's withdrawal from the bloc beyond October 31.

Mr. Johnson's deal offers a far harder Brexit than May's deal but falls short of the red lines set by hard Brexiteers like Mr. Farage

I told you this was Farage’s position for a while.....ie that while Boris would demand better terms than Theresa May’s ridiculous surrender treaty, it would still give away too much to the EU.

Without knowing all the details of what is in this agreement, I’ll say I tend to agree with Farage and a full return to sovereignty. The Brexit Party has no presence in Parliament since it’s new so he doesn’t have the votes to do anything himself. If Labour votes against it and enough Tory Brexiteers vote against it though, they could torpedo it. We need the details of what’s in it first to see how palatable or unpalatable it is.

Does Farage have a point. Is this a really bad deal?

I didn’t know they could keep delaying. I thought there was a hard cutoff date this month.

As I read this situation and someone will correct me if I am wrong, Parliament would not be prorogued and fought it. They then passed a law requiring Boris to return to the EU and get another delay or a deal. He has that deal.

If they reject it, he has fulfilled the law that they passed and, if nothing happens, they will get a hard Brexit.

This is all a con... Boris is the British establishment swamp, real Brexit will never happen....

and an election will never happen either.

Do the deal now. Deal with the Irish border problem later — and unilaterally if need be. What’s the EU going to do about it?

I'm not an expert on British politics but it seems that their Parliament has the power to withdraw partially,or entirely, from any treaty that Britain has signed onto.

I assume that there was a referendum a few years ago only because it was such a major issue that the politicians wanted "cover" regarding whatever happened. And,of course, nobody expected it to pass.

Guess I don’t understand why the Brits don’t just say “Hasta La Vista Baby”, step over a broom stick or something, and declare themselves divorced from the EU and go about being their own sovereign country again.

Farage wants to keep northern Ireland out of the customs union even though 56% of them don’t want a border with the Republic.

Farage is just sore because if boris wins then Farages career is over

Boris is no Trump and to get the Brexit the people voted for you would need a Trump.
