An agreement neither side is likely to keep for more than a month or so.

Apparently it’s a five day pause, after which Turkey can do as they please.

If these Kurds are more dangerous than ISIS, why are we encouraging a cease-fire? Why are we sanctioning the Turks?

"It will be a pause in military operation for 120 hours, while the United States facilitates the withdrawal of YPG (the People's Protection Units) from the affected areas in the safe zone. And once that is completed, Turkey has agreed to a permanent ceasefire and the United States of America will work with Turkey -- will work with nations around the world -- to make sure peace and stability are the order of the day in this safe zone," Pence said at a news conference."

A couple of questions right off the bat. First, how are we going to facilitate the withdrawal of YPG units from the affected areas? I'm assuming the YPG isn't going to want to go and we kind of lost any influence we might have had when we threw them under the bus. Second, what nations around the world will be willing to work with us to secure and protect a safe zone? Nobody springs to mind and it isn't going to be us because three, President Trump has made it clear he doesn't see any role for us in the area so U.S. troops are out of the question.

Too many unknowns.

Trump hit it on the nail. Pelosi is a 3rd rate politician by comparison.
