Unbelievable what passes as "education" in this country, today! Not to mention the trampling of our Constitutional Rights by robed tyrants sworn to uphold it.

~ ~ ~

The center explained Wood "believes it is a sin to profess the existence of any other god but the Christian God. She stood firm in her Christian beliefs and was punished for it. School officials refused her father’s request that she be allowed to opt-out or be given an alternative assignment. She refused to complete her anti-Christian assignment and consequently received a failing grade."

Fine!

Here is my student's assignment to bring and read to her Latin class:

Sancte Michael Archangele,
defende nos in proelio,
contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium.
Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur:
tuque, Princeps militiae caelestis,
Satanam aliosque spiritus malignos,
qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo,
divina virtute, in infernum detrude.

+Amen.

The SC did not side with the teacher by refusing to take the case. This matter should be handled at the lowest possible level. If the people who live in that school district do not do WHAT EVER IS REQUIRED TO STOP THIS DEMOCRAT INSANITY, then they deserve whatever they get.

I am not as outraged by this story as everybody else here. The WND narrative is very heavy-handed. Lines like "She refused to complete her anti-Christian assignment and consequently received a failing grade." are not necessarily accurate. Just because the students were learing about Islam does not mean that the assignment was "anti-Christian". The Muslim conversion prayer is just words when it is an answer on a test. WND printed the words of the prayer as well. Does that mean WND has converted to Islam?

Then there is this: Wood also had been forced to view a series of Islam-promoting PowerPoint slides, including one casting aspersions on Christians that said, "Most Muslims' faith is stronger than the average Christian.". Does anybody really think "the average Christian" is as fervent as a Muslim? They blow themselves up for their religion. Most Christians want to be inclusive and not offend anybody.

To me, the issue in this story should be "why were students being taught about Islam?". If the class was studying people from all over the world and their various religions (Buddhism, Hinduism, etc) including Judaism and Christianity, then I see no problem in it. When I taught Sunday School class to high-schoolers I once taught a class comparing the World's religions (the one the students found the weirdest was Mormonism). However, this WND article does not explore that, which makes me wonder if there is more to this story than what they chose to report.

This is why we need another 4 years of Trump and another 2 SCOTUS appointments... Anyone can have a brain fart, except on the left, where they vote in lock step.

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the teacher did not violate the Establishment Clause.

The teacher violated the Establishment Clause.

These robed elites just can’t grasp that their furtherance of this BS is going to contribute to increasing tensions that will, at some inevitable point, boil to the surface in an open, shooting war.

People read Revelation and think, “Ahh, poppycock; it could NEVER get THAT bad.”

Damn them! It CAN get — NO, *WILL* get — that bad; that was the crusty old prophets entire frackin’ point!

But, then, maybe these geniuses are trying to make it happen sooner rather than later...

Then I guess the Supremes will have no problem with the public schools forcing the students to recite a Christian prayer in Jesus Name. We are in the last days. . .wake up America before its too late.

Do some research on ‘Pearson Publishing’ the largest publisher in the world of educational material. Then take back your local schools and eliminate anything published by the Pearson wolves. Rid local school board members in the next election who support this pro-Islam/anti-American propaganda.

“According to a recent news release in PR Newswire, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has announced its support of White County Tennessee school board members who unanimously adopted a pro-Islam seventh grade textbook, which was imposed on TN counties by the state’s Textbook Committee. CAIR has labeled opponents of the controversial textbook “Islamaphobes.”..

“...A 2013 article in The Report Card titled “Pearson’s Muslim Biased Textbooks and Libyan Ownership”, the underlying basis for the Islamic bias in Pearson’s 7th grade textbook is exposed: “According to the Financial Times, a publication owned by Pearson, The Sovereign Fund of Libya initially took a [significant] 3.27 per cent stake in Pearson, the largest educational publishing company in the world. Pearson is a $9 Billion giant that dominates textbooks, testing, teacher evaluation, IT platforms for schools, and may have the largest investment in lobbying of any publishing company operating in the United States. Pearson is also a major supplier to states who have adopted the Common Core Standard. Key Pearson textbook consultants on Islam, Susan Douglass and Shabbir Mansuri, have both been connected to the Muslim Brotherhood and voiced strong support of Islamic Madrassah, Islamic schools where hate for Jews and Christians is a daily lesson.”
The article continues, “Muslim Brotherhood documents seized by the FBI and presented at the 2008 Holy Land Foundation Trial in Dallas, Texas revealed a plan by Muslim Brotherhood and their subsidiary organizations, like CAIR, to penetrate and indoctrinate American K-12 students.”...

Wood refused to deny her faith "by making a written profession of the Muslim conversion prayer known as the shahada – 'There is no god by allah and Muhammad is the messenger of allah,'" Thomas More said.

Does this mean the students who did write this shahada are now Muslims and can be killed if they backslide into Christians, Jews, atheists, etc.??! /s

She should have asked, “What if I were a practicing homosexual? Islam rejects homosexuality and throws them off the roofs of tall buildings. Would I still be required to profess a faith in Islam?”

If the school said no, then she should reply. “Well, today I am identifying as a practicing homosexual.”

Then see what they do.

Depends on how the question is asked. I was stationed in Thailand, a Buddhist country. I was a visiting professor in Turkey, a Moslem country. I made a point of learning about the history, culture and religion of my host countries. I would have no hesitation about stating what THEY believe. That wouldn't mean I believe it.

Wait a guldurn minute, heah...what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

Why can't individual teachers do the same thing with Christianity? Now there is a high-court decision that allows religion in school--is this what the Supremes were thinking?
