Libertarians are usually anti-war. And here Rand is absolutely right. We can’t force peace between countries or provinces. And where was the media and the Democrats when Saddam was gassing the Kurds? They were awol because talking about it didn’t help them politically. We really don’t need to be fighting in Syria and Afghanistan both. We gain nothing by fighting in Syria.

Are We Going To Send Americans To Die To Force Turkey To Get Along With The Kurds?

It appears not.

I have a feeling this guy would’ve objected to a declaration of war after Pearl Harbor.

I used to feel so very different about the US intervening in foreign conflicts. I questioned the patriotism and at times, even the humanity of anyone who said we should not get involved and lead that country onto the ‘right path’.
But that was a whole nineteen (19!!) years ago.

Back then, I knew nothing about RINOs, The Swamp, Fake News or the Globalists who make huge profits from warfare. Of course they don’t want it to ever stop.
I don’t think any average civilian expected us to be still deeply involved in those countries until this present day.
I recall reading that WW2 lasted just what? 4 or 5 years.
I’m thinking, surely, this won’t be such a long ride like that one.

The irony is turkey is a nato partner and we do have legal obligations to them

Unfortunately they are nearly a rogue nation

How many people did Erdogan kill in his faux coup?

Agree with Rand on the Kurds, disagree with Rand on the Saudis. Of course we're their mercenary force but without troops there, well, we've seen how easy it was for a bunch of sandrags to disable Aramco. And you don't just send your best intercept defense batteries just laying around for some Saudi prince to find some pinoy to fire for him.

Also given the time of year, I would have liked to have seen Rand demonstrate the blind tackle on Check Fodd. "So Check, you stand over there and you're raking leaves..."

I know a lot of people on this board do not like Paul. This interview shows just how spot on he is about foreign affairs and I would like to see him run for president when Trump is finished. I believe that he would further MAGA

No. Let them kill each other. We should arm the weaker side to ensure more of both sides are killed.

No, we are not sending Americans to die to force Turkey to get along with the Kurds. This has nothing to do with the Kurds, Syria or terrorism. The Democrats want to appear to want more Americans involvement as a election issue, and to have another phony scandal to attack the President. They do not care about reality or consequences, as long as they have a few soundbites attacking the President.

Turkey’s got nothing, Syria even less, and the Kurds have less than that. There’s nothing between them that would make me want to send my two sons to die for.

Any of these war hawks who are critical of Trump are more than welcome to encourage their own children to go. Soldier of Fortunes are a valid outlet for those willing to die for someone else’s cause.

It’s time to pull our people home. From Syria. From Afghanistan. From Iraq. From Germany. From Japan.

From everywhere.

The world is a miserable place, but it’s not our place to die for it.

Questions for people who want us to back the Kurds:
How long are we going to garrison the Middle East?
What countries will we take land from to form the Kurdish state?
How many people are we going “ethnically cleanse” from that area for the Kurds - or will the Kurds have to do that themselves?
How many flag-draped coffins are you willing to see shipped home to achieve this?
How many billions of dollars of taxpayer dollars are you willing to pay to create and sustain a Kurdish state?
Are you willing to go to war to protect the Kurdish state when their PO’d neighbors decide to annihilate it?

The Middle East is a miserable, stinking dumpster fire. Bring our troops home.

If Turkey doesn’t resettle its 4 million Syrian refugees in Syria, they will send them to Europe, and some will find their way to the US.

This is sleight of hand on Turkey’s part, because they want to use a 30 mile strip of border between Syria and Turkey as the resettlement zone. Of course, those Syrians are not Kurds, that border area is primarily Kurdish, and those Syrian refugees would be less amenable to Kurdish struggles for land in both Turkey and Syria.

It makes perfect sense that we don’t pick sides in this age old battle between TUrks and Kurds. Both are allies, except for the communist/terrorist Kurdish groups such as the PKK.

Also, both are islamic. That means they will lie through their teeth to get their way. It’s considered an admirable quality in Islam.

Chuck Todd: But are you concerned that this decision was too hasty and it sort of created a more chaotic situation than necessary?

We've been in these hellholes years and years and years LONGER than we spent fighting World War I and World War II TOGETHER.

Endless wars are part of the culture and religion of the region... After a trillion dollars spend and massive American blood, these people will be loyal to us for a week or two... There nothing there that's any of our business. Our corrupt 'elites' will have to find someone else to shake down for the 'speeches' fees and butt kissing episodes.
