I truly believe Romney was spied on in 2012 and had he won, he would have been subjected to the same Russian collusion narrative that Trump went through. I think he’s playing a role for Trump to be against him so when the crap hits the fan (IG report on FISA to be released in 2 weeks, I’m being told), it will take more people by surprise and get them to understand just how malicious the Obama administration was.

I believe this is nothing more than wishful thinking and manufactured drama. Mittens and Never Trumper’s know this loser has no shot whatsoever of beating President Trump.
The Never Trumper’s are simply this; they are DC Swamp Denizens that are totally resentful of the fact that President Trump has proven conclusively that they are totally unnecessary to anyone seeking the presidency.
When Donald Trump rejected the lot of them and then won handily they went into panic mode.
How would these political parasites earn their cushy living while doing nothing if Trump demonstrates they are completely irrelevant.
They hate President Trump for accomplishing this as much as the dems hate him for clobbering Hellery Von Pantsuit.
Thereby proving their allegiance to themselves and not to our country.
Romney should look at the polls regarding Trump’s popularity with Republican voters (over 90 percent favorable) before he thinks about a primary challenge. The only states he could win are Utah and any state that keeps Trump off the ballot through shenanigans.
The more interesting question is what happens if Trump runs third party. I think, if honest polls were taken, he might take as many votes from the Democrat nominee as he does from Trump because I see many Dems staying home or reluctantly voting Trump in a two-way race. The Dems may see Romney as a more realistic alternative to winning, as opposed to Warren or Biden.
I don’t see many Republicans outside the Mormon sphere and the Deep State choosing Romney over Trump but most Deep State Republicans voted for Hillary last time anyway, like the Bushes.
