I wish the Office of Legal Counsel’s opinion on this whistleblower claim would get more coverage.
The OLC clearly concludes that the claimant was not entitled to whistleblower protection under the ICWPA because this was a matter outside the intelligence community among other things. Even the Acting DNI pointed out that the OLC opinions are binding on this matter. That’s why he didn’t pass the urgent concern report to Congress. It wasn’t deemed an urgent concern under the law.
“The bombshell report that the whistleblower and his Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) colleagues actively worked exclusively with congressional Democrats before filing the complaint raises serious questions about whether the complainant followed federal laws providing whistleblower protections for employees within the U.S. intelligence community.”
And raises serious questions as to what extent those congressional Democrats actively worked with the whistleblower to fudge the report.

IMHO, putting the word ‘breaking’ in the headline of an article largely based in NYT reporting is disingenuous at best. Putting this in “Breaking News’ is also wrong. It was breaking news yesterday when reported by the NYT. Today, not so much.

They DID wait. But while waiting, the written report could have already been prepared or was simultaneously being prepared. This is a coordinated effort.
The leaker is definitely someone up VERY high in the intelligence community. I hope he/she gets prosecuted for this.
I don't disagree. First the CIAs many problems needs to be put on the table. No one wants to touch that. See where it goes from there.

Well, there is no impeachment yet. There is an inquiry, which is based on a big fat lie.
In fact, the genesis of the inquiry itself is suspicious.
Previous impeachment inquiries were done ONLY WITH A FULL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES VOTE.
This one was initiated by a handful of Democrats.
It was a sneaky campaign designed to by-pass the representatives of the people of the United States of America in order not to put Democrats from Red States on record.
