“blockage” = infarct = heart attack

but sounds like he was stented really quickly, so heart damage SHOULD be minimal, though at his age the whole ordeal will probably take some starch out of him, AND he should undertake cardio rehabilitation for 12 weeks, three times a week.

“I don’t think any Interventional Cardiologist is going straight from “chest pain in the ER” to the catch lab. I imagine they still check the enzymes and maybe even do a scan first.”

absolutely untrue, and i know from experience: often a heart attack has enough overt symptoms it’s obvious what is going on, plus troponin levels take a few hours to rise, by which time one could be dead ... and I’ve NEVER had a scan before being hustled into the cath lab when a heart attack was evident or strongly suspected ...

time is of the essence when there is a blockage and all cardiologists know that, and all the ones i’ve ever dealt with have told me they’d much rather do a angiogram that was a false alarm the not do one and have another dead patient on their hands ...

I saw some polling awhile back that had Biden, not Warren, as the second choice of the most Bernie supporters. Don’t know if that still holds true, though.

Bernie Sanders is done.....Joe Biden is done. Kamala Harris is done. Beto O’Rourke is done. Cory Booker is done....shucks, goodness, all these Democrat Party, Scum & Vermin Humanity, Low life Candidates running for 2020 POTUS, are done. Hillary Clinton will be the chosen (the only deadbeat they have) one to run for 2020 POTUS)!!!

As for the Pelosi/Schiff press conference...it was a total joke fake news merry-go-round. Seriously both Pelosi and Schiff belong in mental institutions...like right now. Case Closed!!!

“Is this problem something that could have been detected with one of those $79 heart scans deals or are those mostly a rip off?”

not sure. if it’s just a hi-res cat scan, it can show the degree of calcification, but without overt symptoms, i don’t know if that would be enough for a cardiologist to consider an angiogram, which is the ONLY definitive test ...

nuclear stress tests are what are mostly used by professional cardiologists when non-life threatening cardio symptoms are present ... but those tests produce a VERY low res image, and have a very high degree of false negatives, so most cardiologists i’ve seen who have the least bit of suspicion after such a test go right for an angiogram ... the first nuclear stress test i had was negative but given my clinical symptoms AND family history, my cardiologist performed an angiogram and found a 90% blockage that he stented ...

Feel better Bernie. Now it’s time to sit on the porch and relax for the net 10 or so years.

“I was thinking of getting one but wondered if it was worth the radiation.”

probably. especially IF you have a family history of early heart disease ... it could be worth it for two reasons:

1. If your coronary arteries are totally calcium-free (low calcium score), then you’re mostly in the clear for a while and will have less to worry about.

2. If your coronary arteries are highly calcified (high calcium score), you could consider life-style changes (e.g., more exercise, lose weigh, eat a better diet, quit smoking, cut down on drinkin). Another thing would be to look into the supplement MK-7, which is a form of vitamin K2, which helps keep calcium in the bones and out of the tissues ...

Bernie should be up and about doing fine shortly. Whether he
remains in the race is another question.

Why did media NOT report that fact yesterday

You DO have to allow some time for the DNC-Big Media emergency strategy meeting to get everyone on the same page...

Maybe caused by:

He can retire comfortably now.

that’s very surprising if the poll is actually accurate ... i wonder why ... maybe they don’t trust Pocahontas?

He is history and should accept that. Warren will get his votes. With Biden on the way out, expect Hillary to jump in. Get the Popcorn out.
