A man accused of driving an SUV through a suburban Chicago shopping mall is facing a state terrorism charge, authorities announced Sunday.
Police in Schaumburg announced early Sunday morning that the Cook County states attorney had authorized the charge against Javier Garcia, 22, of Palatine, Illinois. Garcia also was charged with felony criminal damage to property. Garcia was scheduled to appear in bond court on Sunday.
Under Illinois law, the Class X felony of terrorism can apply if the suspect is believed to have caused more than $100,000 in damage to any building containing five or more businesses, according to a statement issued by Schaumburg Police Sgt. Karen McCarthy. No federal charges have been brought against Garcia.

Was it racially, politically or religiously motivated?
Jake or Elwood.?
Ya THINK?!

Apparently the decision to call it terrorism is solely due to the monetary damage done, which is weird since the definition of terrorism is violence to generate political change.
No known motive yet.
Javier sez...”But, my homeboys tol’ me the food court be having a drive-thru. I was gonna hit up Chipotle for some quesadillas.”
Also...I would think Javier’s actions were somewhat tame compared to most weekends in the Windy City.
Investigators said in a statement that they believe Garcia acted alone, no motive has been determined.
Was he trying to get a better parking space than the ones outside?
Looks like a 1958 Plymouth Fury to me. 8>)

Might be a Dupage County thing, many of the scenes were filmed here?
Must be a citizen or they would be letting him walk.
Food courts? He was hungry. Motive enough to destroy a shopping mall in the minds of the Left.
The article said he acted alone....but if “she” was involved, he’d have an alibi.
:D
Yeah but was I right about the vehicle being a 1957 Plymouth Fury? 8>)
We have a large car show locally every Saturday and hundreds of people show up.
Once in a while, somebody brings in a “Christine” and I have to say, I’m never tempted to stick my head inside the engine compartment so I can check out the chrome.
