[Obama] Judge Blocks Trump Administration’s Plans for Detaining Migrant Families
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 9/27/19 | Alicia S. Caldwell

A federal judge in California blocked the Trump administration from carrying out plans to detain immigrant families indefinitely while their requests for asylum are pending.

Friday’s ruling is the latest in a string of judicial orders blocking efforts designed to curb illegal immigration and the flow of mostly asylum-seeing families from Central America. The ruling is likely to be appealed.

Judge Gee, an Obama appointee, said she struck down the new plan because it didn’t meet a provision called the Flores agreement that prohibits the U.S. from detaining children in immigration jails.

Families who cross into the U.S. illegally and request asylum must wait for immigration court hearings, which can take years to complete. There are more than one million cases pending.

It’s time to start draining the “judge” swamp. Too many weasels in it.

The propaganda media and the people gleeful about this ruling hate our country.

President Trump has to start ignoring these ridiculous rulings. (What are they going to do, impeach him?!) Not just appealing improper rulings to the Supreme Court, and not just tweeting about them. Some political hack Federal Judge does not have the authority to dictate immigration policy to the Executive Branch, unless that branch foolishly grants it. It’s like my small town’s mayor declaring war on Spain and insisting that troops be mobilized.

If Trump isn’t going to stand up for his rights as the executive he might as well just hand the White House keys over to Hillary Clinton and go take it easy somewhere.

I agree, but because Federal Judges are appointed for a lifetime, the draining will take decades. Impeaching a judge is possible, but highly unlikely. Impeachment has to start in the House and the Senate must convict by 2/3rds majority. Not going to happen. She needs to be overruled.

You bet. The Oliver Cromwell method would be best.

Not when you have evidence of treason and felony violations.

Another one has to go to the Supreme Court, which adds another 6 months into the process.

For me, let them wait in Mexico.

If congress doesn’t like it, they can impeach.

Judicial tyranny.

That’s the name of the game.

Border Entry Point

Lines 1-4 US citizens only
Line 5 US citizens, valid visa holders
Line 6 US citizens, valid visa holders, US approved asylum claimants with officially stamped approval forms and picture ID
Line 7 unapproved asylum claimants[with just one asylum screening officer]

Imagine coming north from Tijuana.

One walks past the San Ysidro paperwork building, then into a covered area with lines each staffed with a USCIS officer.

Unapproved asylum claimants should be instructed to wait in another line at the paperwork building served by several asylum screening officials.

US citizen only areas and lines should be cleared marked.

Better long lines stretching far into Mexico than having to pay $50,000/year/illegal for detention.

At Gatwick Airport, there were two screening areas when I was there in 2016, one for EU/UK citizens and one for other persons like Americans.

US citizen only areas and lines should be clearly marked.

My proposal meets the requirements of US law.

The arrangement of border entry facilities is up to executive discretion.

“There are more than one million cases pending.”

It sounds like Trump needs to appoint more judges. I’m sure he’ll do a good job.

I WONDER HOW JUDGE GEE WOULD REACT IF AN ILLEGAL ALIEN ASSAULTS ONE OF HER FAMILY MEMBERS.

Wait 10 years when trump judges do it to a democrat president. The glee will change to scorn.

If she is a district judge, then he merely has to stop doing it in her district per a recent supreme Court ruling against another district judge. She can’t rule for the entire nation.
