Once a fringe argument restricted to extreme anti-Muslim corners of the internet, the idea that Islam is not actually a religion, and therefore does not qualify for religious liberty protections, has rapidly gained salience in mainstream public discourse in the U.S. among activists, media commentators, and lawmakers alike.
In her new book, When Islam Is Not a Religion: Inside America’s Fight for Religious Freedom, attorney Asma Uddin traces the assertion’s American origins from extreme right-wing activist spaces to the White House. A religious liberty expert and Senior Scholar with the Religious Freedom Center at the Freedom Forum Institute in Washington, D.C., Uddin said proponents of this argument claim that Islam is a dangerous political ideology and a tool to commit violence and impose the Islamic way of life upon non-Muslims. That, they argue, makes Islam incompatible with democracy and America.
“It’s very much rooted in this idea that Muslims have a very fundamental allegiance to something other than the U.S Constitution,” Uddin said. “It could be to Muslim governments abroad, but more likely the claim is that you have loyalty to shariah.”

A definition of tolerance: “The capacity to endure continued subjection to something without adverse reaction.” Pretty much covers our relation with Islam doesn’t it.
Islam must be declared other than a religion, and disallowed to be practiced within our borders.
This article uses the classic leftist technique of condemning an argument by condemning those who make it by association. No where does it counter the argument that Islam is more than a religion, and that sharia includes a political/legal ideology. It simply says, so is Christianity sometimes too...and all these right wing conservatives condemn Islam, so they must be wrong.
The goal of Islam is to conquer the world.

We could avoid problems with Islam is we asked one question of immigrants: Does leaving your religion deserve the death penalty?
A devout Muslim must say “Yes” as all schools of Islam agree—that apostasy from Islam deserves the death penalty.
I don’t know any other religion that says that. Anyone who agrees that leaving their religion deserves death—does not deserve to be in the USA—even to visit.

I think an amendment clarifying that any “religion” that calls for the execution of members of other religions is excluded from First Amendment protections.
There are something like 1.3 billion Muslims on the planet.
Which means they are outnumbered something like 6:1.
My father taught me to never go picking a fight when I was outnumbered 6:1.
If Muslims persist on this path it is going to end very, very badly for them. The other six billion are going to make a decision that will make Hitler’s Final Solution look like a Sunday picnic.
