Tulsi is an example of why women, natural appeasers, should NEVER be President.

A sane position is not opposite to an insane position. It is something in the middle.

“...”This this provocation, as you put it, did not just come from out of nowhere, “Gabbard said, responding to MacCallum. “It is a retaliation and it’s a retaliation against the extreme sanctions that are on Iran that’s basically making it impossible for them to sell their oil around the world.”
Using the same logic the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor (which Gabbard may have heard of) could be considered a retaliation against the extreme sanctions (we froze all Japanese assets in July, 1941) that basically made it impossible for them to buy oil around the world.

I listened to her, but couldn’t get where her approach would do anything beyond removing the sanctions. She’s confused.

The only sense in any of Gabbard’s statements here is that she confirms that Trump’s sanctions are working. ;-)
Otherwise, she just sounds like an Iranian mouthpiece, an idiot, or both.

John Bolton universally hated by Free Republic these days with a real dont let the door hit you on the ass attitude he he was canned/left. So it would seem logically that the Tulsi Gabbard Iran position should resonate with many people here. True. Some here are being hypocrites for not endorsing what she said.

Her FNC anchor fanboy Tucker Carlson agrees with this idiocy as well. I just had a Freeper tell me Iran should be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
I guess the Paultards think we have to wait until Iran develops and uses nuclear weapons before acting.

I wonder if they feel the same way about other crazed / apocalyptic America-hating regimes developing nuke arsenals? Or do they just have a particular soft spot for the Islamic Republic of Iran for whatever reason?
The old nuclear deterrence strategy (Mutually Assured Destruction MAD) that worked so well during The Cold War wont work with regimes ruled by psychotics and mad mullahs. Many seem to have a hard time grasping that reality.

MAD is only necessary in a conflict of superpowers. Having a long war with another superpower is something to be avoided. Pissant tyrants that would have no chance against us in a war need have their nuclear weapon facilities blown to pieces if they become a national security threat.

Absolutely. Unfortunately the Norks were allowed to progress to that point. Hopefully we wont make the same mistake with Iran.
