WASHINGTON (AP) The House passed a short-term bill Thursday to prevent a federal shutdown when the budget year ends Sept. 30, and give lawmakers until the Thanksgiving break to negotiate and approve $1.4 trillion for federal agencies.
The Senate is expected to approve the stopgap bill next week. The vote in the Democratic-run House on the bipartisan plan was 301-123.
The agency spending bills would fill in the details of this summers budget and debt agreement between President Donald Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
The Republican-controlled Senate is struggling over how to move ahead with its versions of the follow-up spending bills. There is partisan skirmishing over the boundaries of the budget agreement and Trumps moves to pay for the U.S.-Mexico border fence without congressional approval.
The Senate Appropriations Committee on Thursday approved three noncontroversial measures on unanimous votes as the sniping continued in the wake of Wednesdays Democratic filibuster of the almost $700 billion defense bill and other legislation.
Senate Democrats accused Republicans of shortchanging health and education programs to finance the border project and would permit the president to transfer military dollars for the wall again.

Someone please post that “not this sh*t again” picture, please.
This is becoming like Christmas Thanksgiving and New years. It should have it’s own national holiday.
Just shut it down. Shut downs arent even shutdowns, they are ramp downs with a few shutdowns.
Damn swamp creatures love those “continuing resolutions” rather than actual budgets.
Our government is absolutely worthless. Who is to say that America will not eventually go bankrupt like the Soviet Union and break apart?
Another year, and once again, Congress does not get its work done on time.
Continuing resolutions meter out funding at the same pro-rated level as last year’s budget, until it expires, or they pass an actual appropriation.
That should mean a bit over $100 million per month for border barrier, while the CR goes on.
We are tired of bills are not being read and billion$ and trillion$ of dollars in legislation when so called omnibus bills get passed. Funding then get shoveled into agencies with the results being government intrusion as well as its employees that grow into our lives regulating US how we; eat, sleep, pray, get married , and think
Should your Senator or congressman have voted NO on any such 1000 page or more Omnibus funding bills of extended duration beyond 60 days if congress did not do its job and consider (read) what it is passing? (Yes) or (NO) ?
The demonic-rats act as if theyre doing this in good faith. Please.
Im guessing that dems got everything that they demanded in the stop gap in the interim?
I can’t. I’m too busy not impeaching the President./s
