While I agree with most of what Schlichter writes (I even bought a couple of his books!) Here I think he's just plain wrong. There are numerous instance of police malfeasance where the police who carried out these criminal acts faced absolutely no consequences at all. Remember it's local officials who usually have all of the integrity of Mike Nifong who are the ones in charge of any bad consequences for police. Local example here in GA a Dickless Tracey got the wrong information on a raid and tossed a flashbank into a toddler's playpen injuring him severely. You might think that the county would do the right thing and if not charge the officer with assault (and she was never charged with anything) at least rule that it was the county's fault any pay the medical bills for the poor baby, but no, the local courts ruled it perfectly acceptable, and not only was the kid maimed, but the parents had to bear the whole brunt of his numerous surgeries (last time I heard in excess of $125k)

Also how many federal agents were tried for the atrocities of Waco and Ruby Ridge? Answer: none, although Janet Reno "took responsibility" whatever that means - in her case nothing.

If that's not enough ask yourself is human nature any different here in the USA than elsewhere in the world (obviously not) and then look at what happened to the Stasi when Germany reunited for those of you who are millennials or live in NY and haven't a clue, the answer is for the rank and file mostly nothing - A number of higher ranking officials were tried for various crimes, but the majority escaped any retribution.

For someone who is usually dead on target I think Schlichter missed this one by a large margin.

I think you are correct, and ...

Because there will be an accounting before the law for anyone who swore to defend the Constitution and then willingly does the opposite.

... is incorrect. The law does not account for this sort of breach. This sort of thing is generally in the political realm, elect different people.

What is going on these days is the law is being used to determining the outcome of political issues. The law was used to flip the recent presidential election, investigations into a hoax, accusations of law breaking, process hidden by "investigatory secrecy," courts staying executive orders based on "because Trump." And the penalty (if it is even applied) is removal from office., That's it.

The law is the problem, and people ought to be careful about giving it even MORE power. It is a dangerous tool, so dangerous that it is capable of nuking the political process.

To tell you the truth, cops are the biggest fudd idiots out there. The PC justice system has more cop blood on their hands than any organization out there, but here we are, plenty of cops coming back with wagging tails to their overloards at the DA office , thinking they can be part of the smart a$$ food chain.

Uh, several thousand seizures have occured already under various state red flag laws.

Number of officers declining to participate: 0.

The like of Barr and Cheney are of a long line of fibbing idiot fudds who want to manage the population like a hunter manages as a predator wild life with its assortment of preys and its lower level predators to balance things out, They do not have the strategic vision the Founders had with respect to a language of self defense which imposes the government from violating our privacy in armament. To wit, the nuclear arms treaties they embrace perfectly illustrate how dangerous their policies are with respect to enabling enemies to attack us from abroad ( and organized crime to attack us from within with respect to a loss of weapon privacy).

When Cheney says we have to respect judges and their decisions like Judge Greer, my question to him is why should I respect a justice system responsible for being the number one cop killer? One instigating in courts the like of Antifa and BLM to murder cops and firebomb IcE stations?

Screw these traitors. Where are the thinking cops? That is right, the fudd society is asleep with respect to Marxists.

This is Kurt catching up, almost, to what our own @Travis McGee (Matt Bracken) wrote years ago in his essay “Mr. Security Agenr.”

Kurt assumes that institutional structures will remain functioning once real attempts at civilian disarmament begin. I don’t see how. I can easily think of just a couple things a handful of people could do to bring a city of millions to it’s knees in hours. And I’m not all that imaginative. One nutcase with apparently no forethought brought the cities of Odessa and Midland to a dead stop for hours. Civilian Disarmament is just a libtard wet dream.

Take a nobody and make him a somebody by supplying him with a snappy uniform, a weapon, and a license to kill and you can get him to do anything - see Nazism 1933-1945 or any other totalitarian society throughout human history.

The American Taliban, i.e., the ‘Rat Party, knows this all too well.

Most of our heroic cops and warriors would hold true to their oaths to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

I would like to believe this but I have my doubts. There are cops who want an unarmed public. There are cops who will do what their masters tell them, e.g., Waco massacre.

Throughout history, tyrants have used propaganda, fear and self-preservation - to turn citizens (cops and military) against their own. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Lincoln ....

I'd like to believe we are the exception but when faced with following orders or going to prison or worse - most men choose self preservation.

I'm sorry if I sound cynical but I have doubts that most cops are ready to sacrifice themselves like our revolutionary forefathers did.

Lawyers are really the last to get it. The law doesn’t matter when people are not prosecuted because the system protects them. Rules and laws are no longer that. The law is like pirate law now, they are a guidelines that must be followed by those whom love and respect the Constitution and disregarded by those called ‘Democrats’.

Everything in the IRS, EPA, FBI, DOJ, and corrupt federal judges, has been a primer for the American People to get used to overreaching Federal Government. Obama gave Billions in cash and gold to a terrorist state....Iran...without a treaty and without approval of any congressional body. That money funds world wide terrorist attacks and high seas piracy. Obama built and funded ISIS, his own private middle east caliphate army. The media is already on board with depriving the average Citizen of their Constitutional rights, and burying stories about illegal ‘democrat’ government.

They(not a political party) know the public has become aware of the ‘government’ now, at least some of it that happens to be the most armed. They saw the Tea Party come to Washington, unarmed, and understand the danger. They have to get the guns away or they face life and death retaliation. Every Socialist Regime has to keep the public disarmed especially to eliminate the dissenters. Logically speaking, they are coming for your guns.

I only know of one such instance. The deputy was charged, there was a criminal trial, the deputy was acquitted at a jury trial.

The family received a 3.6 million settlement, which is offset by about 1 million in medical costs.

There were a number of "assault weapons" seizures in NYC during the reign of David Dinkins as far as I know not a single officer failed to participate. In the Peoples' Democracies of NJ and MA, the police actively look for firearms violations to send otherwise innocent Americans to prison. In MA I remember reading that one guy got sent to prison for having a fired shotgun shell in his car. I rather doubt any police in these jurisdictions will do anything except be good little milice and enthusiastically follow orders. You don't join the police if you have a problem following orders, no matter how unconstitutional.

The DOJ attempted to overthrow a duly elected president. That President is still in power, and nothing will be done to anybody. Schlichter is smoking something if he thinks anyone would pay for following unlawful orders.

DEAR MR. SECURITY AGENT: WHEN IT COMES TO GUN CONFISCATION…
[Last paragraphs]

Dear Mr. Security Agent, let me spell it out. If you find yourself in the sub-basement of an annex to a secret intelligence center on the far end of town, waterboarding citizens into revealing the locations of suspected “illegal caches” of firearms, ammunition or ammunition magazines that were legally owned in 2019, then know this one simple fact: tens of millions of Americans will most surely consider you a betrayer of your sworn oath and a traitor to your country.

And so, if you find yourself silently dismounting a covert SWAT vehicle at zero-dark-thirty, dressed all in body armor, counting down to the time-coordinated explosion of battering rams and flash-bang grenades, on a raid against a sleeping household intended to result in the confiscation of firearms, ammunition or ammunition magazines that were legal to own in 2019, millions of Americans who also swore an oath to defend the Constitution will consider you their domestic enemy, and they will resist you with force of arms. Just as the soldiers of King George were resisted on another notable gun confiscation raid on April 19, 1775. It used to be called “The Shot Heard ’Round the World.”

You may consider the sentiments expressed above to be absurd, hyperbolic, dangerous, ridiculous, or simply wrong-headed. But please understand that tens of millions of Americans feel this way to their cores, and they will not be disarmed without a fight. Well-meaning but naive liberals should understand the certain-to-follow consequences of new gun control laws intended to disarm their fellow citizens in the name of “public safety.” LEOs and FLEAs should understand the dire consequences of participating in gun confiscation raids, in direct violation of their sworn oaths to uphold the Constitution, including the Second Amendment.

The unintended consequences of this misguided utopian fool’s crusade to ban guns would include a second civil war as agonizingly painful as the first one, if not more so, since there would be no front lines and no safe areas for anybody, anywhere. Every sane American wants to prevent such a calamitous outcome as a “dirty civil war” on United States soil.

But know this: those tens of millions will never be quietly disarmed and then later forced at government gunpoint onto history’s next boxcars. If boxcars and detention camps are to be in America’s future, then you, Mr. Security Agent, will have to disarm us the hard way first. Not Piers Morgan, not Michael Moore, not Rosie O’Donnell, not Dianne Feinstein, not Chuck Schumer. [Much less Beto O’Rourke]

You.

I stand corrected. I was NOT up to date on this one. However, the deputy WAS not found guilty, so she faced no consequences, and I’m sure she did not pay for her own defense lawyer.

Gets back to the public's fault for giving the fudds that much power. Policing used to be a community effort, not a government effort.

The reality is government, all parts of it, has an us vs. them view of the public. They lie and tell the people the opposite.

We'd do well to discuss ways to empower the people to take matters back into their own hands.

Once they start taking fire for just going to work the cops will quit showing up pretty quickly. I had a neighbor who was a cop for a few years, he got shot at for just being a cop driving down the street in a black neighborhood. He quit the next day.

It’s all fun and games until ...

you’re in range of deliberate, accurate fire.

Actually, they’re likely out-ranged for the most part ...

Oh, and they don’t really have a ‘green zone’ to go back to and be relatively safe inside the wire.
