There were a number of "assault weapons" seizures in NYC during the reign of David Dinkins as far as I know not a single officer failed to participate. In the Peoples' Democracies of NJ and MA, the police actively look for firearms violations to send otherwise innocent Americans to prison. In MA I remember reading that one guy got sent to prison for having a fired shotgun shell in his car. I rather doubt any police in these jurisdictions will do anything except be good little milice and enthusiastically follow orders. You don't join the police if you have a problem following orders, no matter how unconstitutional.

New York has very strict gun laws...assault weapons must be registered in New York. I would expect that any unregistered assault weapon could be legally seized. In this "scenario" the cops could be fired for not following a legal order.

I looked up the word “milice”. Did not know they existed during WWII Vichy France. 25,000 milice did the Nazi’s dirty work because they knew the local dialects.

Knew there were plenty of collaborators but not of this.

We have to be truly concerned about police following illegal orders in order to protect their pensions.

Someone mentioned zero failures by police to carry out Red Flag confiscations. Even if a judge dismisses the complaint, the accused’s gun are still gone. If the judge orders his guns to be returned, the police flip him off & say, “So sue us”.

We are headed for fascistic times. Glad I’m getting old.
