Did Warren’s NYC Rally Really Rival Trump’s in New Mexico?
PJ Media ^ | Sept 18, 2019 | Matt Margolis

The Washington Post wrote that Democrats finally have matched Trump’s crowd sizes by pointing to Elizabeth Warren’s Manhattan rally Monday night. Then finally this week, the Democrats — who have long tried to ignore Trump’s bigger-is-better ethos — offered a tangible response of their own in the form of Elizabeth Warren’s Monday evening rally in New York City’s Washington Square Park, where the Massachusetts senator showed that she, too, could match the spectacle of Trump, right down to the large cheering throngs.

“Yeah, the lines keep getting longer,” Warren told reporters in New York Tuesday, when asked about the four-hour wait for photos with her that capped her Monday rally, which was attended by more than 20,000 people. “That’s a good thing!”

The Hill went a step further by suggesting Warren had even eclipsed Trump by comparing her rally in Manhattan to Trump’s rally near Alburquerque, New Mexico. Warren’s campaign estimated that 20,000 people filled Washington Square Park on Monday night to hear the candidate give a speech about how she would root out corruption in Washington if she’s elected president.

Trump held a reelection rally in Rio Rancho, N.M., the same night in an arena with a maximum capacity of 7,000 people. The campaign said that several thousand more lined up outside the stadium to hear the president, who has boasted about his crowd sizes as a measure of voter support for his administration.

There are more people in New York City than all of New Mexico, so I'm not sure the comparison holds.

Even more, New Mexico is a democrat state, and New York is about 90% democrat.

Really, Supposedly she got up to 10,000 people, the amount the venue held.

Trump’s new mexico venue held 7500, but there were overflow crowds estimated at 12-15,000.

And New Mexico is sparsely populated relative to NYC.

Nonsense! They'd be lucky to get that rated at 1/4th to 1/3rd of 20k.

Trump generally has twice that OUTSIDE his events.

Trump could fill that up with a 2 hour notice.

Wonder how many bought and paid for buses brought those folks in.

“There are more people in New York City than all of New Mexico, so I’m not sure the comparison holds.”

Not only that, but there are lot more attractions to compete with in NYC. Warren’s growing crowds should not be sneezed at. She seems to be gaining serious momentum.

I stick with my prediction that Sleepy Joe will be the nominee, but it’s becoming increasingly doubtful.

I think Trump would trounce either of them.

She’s a Democrat politician so her default position is to lie and the evidence says she did.

I haven’t been there in decades. But Washington Square Park used to have that many people in it every day, getting a little air or buying drugs.

Of the realistic possibilities, I will take Warren to run against. Her extreme policies - green new deal, reparations, middle class tax hike, government health care for all, decriminalize illegal border crossing, wealth tax, free college - will give Trump plenty of ammo. Plus she seems mentally unstable to most reasonable people.

Thinking about it - the above applies to all the DEM front runners

The number of people at Warren’s NYC rally were proven wrong & misleading earlier today.

Warren is quite popular, it’s foolish to deny it.

The photo only shows the plaza in front of the arch at washington sq park. That is only about half or less of the park. The rest of the park is walkways with benches, grassy areas and a children’s playground.
If the whold park holds 10,000 then she would be lucky to have had 4,000 people.
She is sullying the “honest injun” expression.

Duh, she's in NY, in a park, where there's no way to verify the exact numbers......versus Trump, who's in a Democrat leaning state.

Can't believe the losers even tried to use this as a viable comparison to Trump's popularity......but then, what do you expect from Socialists?

I was there this summer a few times, there is no way it held 10K at once unless they are counting people who were walking by on the outside of the park. I bet there were 1k people who were there just to sit outside or take their dog to the dog park there.

I live in NYC not far from Washington Square Park (which is pretty much on the NYU campus) and am very familiar with the park. That’s a few thousand people. Not 10,000 and certainly not 20,000.

What percent of that NYC shot are media and/or college students picking up a free credit for their Gender Studies class?

Trump has many times that number outside of his venues, over & over & over again.

It is clear that the MSM has selected Warren, they ignore her 1/1024th native american status.

Biden is a placeholder and will drop out before the primaries.

Kamala’s complete decline was a surprise.

And Bernie.....I guess he never figured out that as wacky left he is, he is not a Democrat and he will never be their nominee. Oh well, I guess he will by another water front house.
