A prolonged and painful death. While her politics were certainly to the left, she managed to be civil, unlike most of her colleagues. RIP

I heard her name a few months ago on a TV news show promo and thought "I haven't seen her in a while."

Like I said, Democrat media is literally being killed off. Works for me.

I always thought “Cokie Roberts” was he kind of name you’d see in a John Grisham novel about a drug dealer who peddled cocaine to Hollywood stars and Wall Street executives.

Democrat dinosaurs lumbering to well-deserved extinction.

“I certainly didn’t always agree with her but always enjoyed watching and listening to her.”

Same here. While she was left of center, she could still factually present a story and give a decent analysis.

I knew her brother-in-law. He said she got the name Cokey because she loved Coca Cola when she was a toddler.

Re: And she appeared to be a really nice person.

Evidently you are too young to have ever heard her liberal slant on every and any thing under the sun for too damn many years--

I'm not and shall hold further comment as to not get censored--

Yep, she did her best to swing this nation leftward, into the complete mess we’re in today, so I’ll pass on the prayer circles and virtue signaling.

So Roberts was nice. The surviving ones are fetid and feral to boot. The fact you can put in a good word for her only shows how awful the Democrat media has become.

What did she stand for? All that airtime, but to what effect? She represented the beltway consensus, don’t-rock-the-boat, conventional wisdom line. And she did it with the detached sense of haughty indifference that made you almost sense the missing glass of Chardonnay in her left hand.

I would say “she will be missed”, but as a longtime viewer that’s just not true for me. Her passing will be like when Meet The Press gets a new fancy conference table. You know it’s different, but for the life of you, you can’t remember the old one at all.

She’s like that old conference table. I can’t remember what she thought, nor do I particularly care.

Rest in peace.

I can’t believe all the fawning I’m seeing - she, along with Sam donaldson replaced David Brinkley and the two proceeded to trash the show and turn it into a propaganda piece for the DNC way back when.

She wasn’t witty or intelligent but she’s “practicing while female” so she’s better than any male in that position.

It’s sad that she died but geez people can we stop celebrating mediocrity?

My wife, literally the-girl-next-door, lost a battle to breast cancer at 28 - very tough disease.

My one memory of Cokie was when she was reporting on a snowstorm/blizzard - bravely bundled up out in the cold and windy location.

Turns out she was in a studio standing in front of a green screen.

Fascinating.

Effective people learn to be polite.

I have known several leftists who were personable.
