Similar thing happened to my dad. A lot of the drugs used to treat cancer have nasty side effects, including clot issues. My sister went though chemo and radiation last summer and fall. It ... was... rough. But she is doing much better, Thank God.

Actually I had never even remembered hearing the name Rick Ocasik. I've heard of The Cars and maybe even remember listening to maybe one song of The Cars. Yeah, that one that goes, "Who's gonna drive you home, tonight?"
But he is not a household name at all. Let's wait for a real third person.

Sometime in the late 1960’s, a North Dakota Air National Guard plane went down in Alaska; neither the plane nor the crew were ever found. My late father was a member of that Air Guard, “The Happy Hooligans,” and knew several of the crewmen who perished.

She was Hale Boggs's daughter. Her mom's family, the Claibornes, had all kinds of political connections going all the way back to the beginning.
Radio guy Howie Carr couldn't mention Cokie's name without going on about Hale Boggs. He sort of kept the guy alive in memory.

I saw her in a restaurant in New Orleans in, oh, 1979 or 1980; thereabouts, anyway. I thought she was a very pretty woman then. She seemed rather quiet.

Hale Boggs of the Warren Commission, who mysteriously died after publicly disavowing the “single-bullet” theory.

Once again, staying up looking at old threads, and didn't know she had passed. That's what happens when you have not watched a television set for a few years. She was a trailblazer who when she reported a story well reported it well.
RIP.
