This will be a weekly post.
Count is now 150 judges confirmed.
105 District Court judges
43 Circuit Court judges
2 Supreme Court justices
The six were those that were supposed to be confirmed before the recess.
This week President Trump nominated two judges to the 11th circuit. The two were Federalist Society members who were put on the Florida supreme court eight months ago by new Governor DeSantis. So two good conservatives move to the Federal level and Governor DeSantis gets to appoint two more to the Florida supreme court.
This week the Senate Judiciary Committee grilled Steven Menashi, nominee for the 2nd (NY) circuit. They are desperate to stop him. Hope committee then floor votes come quickly.
And this week Senator Ted Cruz announced he will NOT be voting for Halil Ozerden, nominee for the 5th circuit. Ozerden is not sufficiently conservative to be a circuit judge, so hopefully his withdrawal will follow and another, more conservative nominee chosen.
Federalist Society hoo-rah!
Trump and Desantis have a great relationship and basically are partnering to help get the brightest and best on the courts. I love Trump! (Also love my Governor)
Im a little bit mystified by some of the six. Two were confirmed by voice vote (meaning NO DemocRAT opposition - when did that last happen?). And two were confirmed 94-0 and 90-1.
A couple of them were judges previously appointed by Obama that Trump renominated. That’s why the little opposition.
Some deal involved probably.
OK, thanks.
Then at least 2 were BAD picks.
Nominate somebody else for the 5th circuit and RAM those other Circuit Court nominees through.
Then when that’s accomplished, ram a bunch of district court nominees through too.
Flipping the 11th Circuit back after Obama tied it up is a big deal.
Generally speaking the knives don’t come out for district court nominations - only Circuit and Supreme Court nominations.
The Senate is still honoring the old process of blue slip support for district court judges meaning it is hard to get hard conservative approved in district courts where both Senators are Ds. That practice is no longer.honored for appleals court judges.
100 Stephanie L. Haines W.D. Pa. March 5, 2019 September 11, 2019 940 currently serves as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for W.D. PA 101 Ada E. Brown N.D. Tex. March 26, 2019 September 11, 2019 8013 member of the Federalist Society since 2018 102 Steven D. Grimberg N.D. Ga. April 4, 2019 September 11, 2019 7518 member of the Federalist Society from 19972004 and again since 2015 103 Steven C. Seeger N.D. Ill. June 18, 2018[Rn 16] September 11, 2019 901 served as a law clerk to Judge David B. Sentelle of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit 104 Mary S. McElroy D.R.I. April 12, 2018[Rn 18] September 11, 2019 voice vote On Sept 8, 2015, Clownbammy nominated McElroy to serve as a US District Judge of the US District Court for the District of Rhode Island 105 Stephanie A. Gallagher D. Md. June 11, 2018[Rn 19] September 11, 2019 voice vote On Sept 8, 2015, Clownbammy nominated Gallagher to serve as a US District Judge of the US District Court for the District of Maryland
So, two more Federalist Society members as District Court judges, on top of the two Federalist Society members for the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Winning.
2 got 90 votes which means many Rat votes and weve seen a nominee that gets more than a few Rat votes usually is a bad pick. Well see.
The Senate is still honoring the old process of blue slip support for district court judges meaning it is hard to get hard conservative approved in district courts where both Senators are Ds. That practice is no longer honored for appeals court judges.
Hopefully neither of them are TOTAL Commies...

You’re lucky to have such a good Governor. I live in Washington state and our Governor is horrible.
