Dan McCready lost to his Republican challenger Dan Bishop Wednesday night in North Carolina's 9th district election. Bishop won by two percent of the vote, despite McCready having a two-year head start and millions of dollars in donations.
So, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi congratulated...the latter.
Im very proud of Dan McCready, she said glowingly. Hes a patriot, hes an independent voice for the district he would have represented - its too bad hes not coming here. But he did a great job.
The speaker added that McCready polled better than past presidential candidates have in the district.
So he won the campaign," she reasoned. "He didnt win the election, but he won the campaign.
Is it a trend in her party to claim victory regardless of the circumstances?
After the election, Roll Call penned a piece entitled, " Why the GOP victory in North Carolina spells disaster for Democrats in 2020 .
Our current GOP strategy is focused on two truths that spell disaster for Democratic prospects in 2020. First, House Democrats socialist agenda is wildly unpopular with voters and will be an anchor around the necks of their candidates in swing districts. Second, President Trump is the single most effective surrogate and turnout machine for the Republican Party.
Waiting for the speaker's spin on that one.
Trump, too, credited his late endorsement with having done a lot of the work.
The North Carolina 9th district election was a do-over after last year's fraud allegations disrupted the results.
A Republican also prevailed in North Carolina's 3rd Congressional District special election race this week to replace the late Rep. Walter Jones, who passed away in February. That contest was a bit more lopsided. Republican state representative Greg Murphy defeated Democrat and former Greenville mayor Allen Thomas by 62 percent to 38 percent. No surprises there, however, as it is a solidly Republican district.
May she continue to congratulate her losers until she is replaced.
You can’t make this up. Amazing.
Participant
Yep...Liberalism at its worst, everyone gets a trophy.
You cant make this up. Amazing.
Excellent description of her bs while losing.
If he won the campaign then the election result is wrong.....ergo...do-over!
I’m sure the DNC can shop a judge who will buy into her argument.
Political Participation Trophy. I finished Second to One!
Yay.
Pelosi Commended McCready For ‘Winning the Campaign’... But Not the Election.
Usual and customary Hogwash from Nancy, the nut.
Well, second place is technically first loser so theres that.
Lets Wrap This FReepathon Up, Folks Donate Today!
Bishop was only in the race for 6 months. Commendable performance and he’s grateful to the President.
Excellent description of these losers:
“Yep...Liberalism at its worst, everyone gets a trophy.”
Years ago, one of our grand kids played baseball with great coaches and team members for 3 years. They were the team champions those 3 years in different age groups.
The league busted up the team and he ended up with a terrible manager and even worse team mates.
His parents got a free trip to Hawaii, and we stayed at their home and drove the kids to school and after school events. As our son left, he told my wife and I just grin and bear the games coming up that week and keep our mouth shut before, during and after the game.
The first two games, the league had a mercy killing rule that if a team was ahead by 12 points, the game was over.
That took care of 2 games that weekend and two games during the week. We said nothing to our grandson, his team mates and coaches.
When the season was over, he got a Participation trophy, which he put on the shelf with his previous top team trophies and some other earned trophies.
His older sister looked at his shelf and said, “Really”!
A week later their block had a garage/yard sale. He sold that Trophy for $5 and gave the money to their local Salvation Army.
Amen!
What a great move on your grandson’s part. Thanks for relating that!
“ICYMI: Pelosi Commended McCready For ‘Winning the Campaign’... But Not the Election”
and i’m praying for many more of those ‘Winning the Campaign’... But Not the Election’ GOP victories like that one ...
I never seen such sad sacks wanting their Loser Trophies! I would never have one of those on my mantel informing the world of what a LOSER I am:-)
Losing is the new Winning.
So is “won the campaign but lost the election” kinda like being of the male sex, but the female “gender”?
Sounds like newspeak to me.
Goofy Nancy but OK.
