Excellent description of these losers:
“Yep...Liberalism at its worst, everyone gets a trophy.”
Years ago, one of our grand kids played baseball with great coaches and team members for 3 years. They were the team champions those 3 years in different age groups.
The league busted up the team and he ended up with a terrible manager and even worse team mates.
His parents got a free trip to Hawaii, and we stayed at their home and drove the kids to school and after school events. As our son left, he told my wife and I just grin and bear the games coming up that week and keep our mouth shut before, during and after the game.
The first two games, the league had a mercy killing rule that if a team was ahead by 12 points, the game was over.
That took care of 2 games that weekend and two games during the week. We said nothing to our grandson, his team mates and coaches.
When the season was over, he got a Participation trophy, which he put on the shelf with his previous top team trophies and some other earned trophies.
His older sister looked at his shelf and said, “Really”!
A week later their block had a garage/yard sale. He sold that Trophy for $5 and gave the money to their local Salvation Army.
What a great move on your grandson’s part. Thanks for relating that!
