Ilhan Omar recounts ‘complete horror’ of 9/11 attacks after being slammed at NYC memorial

Lightning-rod Rep. Ilhan Omar — who previously sparked outrage with a comment minimizing the 9/11 terror attacks — posted a somber video on Twitter on Wednesday commemorating the anniversary and recounting the “complete horror” she and her family felt following the terror attacks.

“On September 11th we experienced one of the most horrific terrorist attacks that we have ever lived through as a nation. Today, we remember the victims, the first responders and their loved ones. #Neverforget,” the Minnesota Democrat wrote on the post, which included the nearly minute-long video.

Probably so. But the statement, however contrived, speaks for itself. Something that I have been waiting to hear from a prominent Muslim since 9/11. Maybe too little too late and it is certainly legitimate to look at it at with suspicion. However, I try to acknowledge “good” in evil people. Good is good.

Now, if she would meet with the victims... that would be the next step.

At some point, we had to make good with the Japanese and the Germans... or if you go back far enough in history, the British. The Germans did some especially horrible things. The Japanese, too. Or the Cold War and the USSR. But we did eventually end those wars.

Muslims are indeed a different beast and maybe they can't be dealt with. Heres hoping that we can eventually make peace. Who knows...
