Unless you have a lot of boats, the only way on and off an island is via a bridge.......Not sure I would use it as a "safe haven".......

They were really pressed to use the F-35 along with the Strike Eagles. Well I guess they wanted some of the Island left, I prefer the low tech B-52 approach myself. One tank of gas, 500,000 pounds of bombs and GOD help em.

Might have been a nice idea when they were running from town to town in broad daylight convoys on MSRs, in a fleet of brand new Toyota HiLux trucks.
