I can’t believe that someone finally wrote an article about Brexit without the mandatory leftist talking point of “crash out”.

The UK just needs to get out of the EU and without a deal that reduces the UK to a vassal state.

It all reminds me of Swift’s description of yahoos. Boris Johnson would be Gulliver.

Johnson, Corbyn charged, is "shutting down democracy" and "taking this country off a cliff" with a no-deal Brexit.

I suspect that Globalism is what is going off a cliff. This is classic "Emperor Has No Clothes". Nationalism is good for nations. People used to know that. Once they see nationalism in action again, Globalism will fall apart quickly.

the only thing I can think of is that Ireland is now ruling Britain.

Incredible.

Strongbow never should have gone to Ireland.

Really, what did Britain ever gain except a pain in the butt by setting foot on that island?

Here we are....it appears that the backstop may scuttle Brexit. How rich.

The dissolution of the Soviet Union into new independent nations went smoother than this.

Wish you were right. May be in a few cases, but most people are not just social animals, but herd animals, and the bull with the loudest bellow will be followed.

That’s always been the Left. Most conservatives just want to be left alone to manage their lives without government interference.

Forgive me if I sound a little cynical about people.

Every thousand years, it seems, Britain is taken over. First it was the Roman Empire, then at the Battle of Hastings the Normans took control. It was a real good run since 1066, until the early 20th century when globalist tendencies and some bad decisions messed things up.

Brexit was a last-gasp chance to stay free of a German takeover, with the EU as its vehicle. Maybe some outlying areas such as Wales can keep their independent streak (they did the last two takeovers). But England? If they don't do Brexit now, it'll be a Muslim country or part of a German/European Empire.

Don’t know about Britain, but the US gained Bushmills.

So wait......Boris Johnson is acting in an undemocratic fashion - not the guys acting to thwart the will of the people who refuse to agree to a general election?

As you can see in the British press, there were plenty more outrageous moments where these came from on Monday as MPs openly protested the prorogation of Parliament. Some sang, while others waved signs reading, “Silenced.” It was unprecedented.

“How dare Boris Johnson prevent Parliament from over turning the will of the British people and giving away that power to the EU”.....

‘National Sovereignty’ cannot be faked... and there is NO substitute for it. You have it or you don’t!

It’s not something to be casual about, either.

Just ask people from the countries who had it and lost it ... or who NEVER had it.

THEY can tell you all about subservience

The simplest solution is the one country two systems approach where northern Ireland remains in the customs union and the rest of the UK leaves.

No border in Ireland then and everyone wins, except the DUP
