Todd Palin files for divorce from former Alaska governor Sarah Palin
Anchorage Daily News ^

Todd Palin appears to have filed for divorce from former Alaska governor and one-time vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, his wife of 31 years.

In a document filed Friday in Anchorage Superior Court, Todd Palin, 55, asked to dissolve the marriage, citing an “incompatibility of temperament between the parties such that they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife.”

The divorce filing uses initials rather than full names, but identifies the couple’s marriage date and the birth date of their only child who is a minor, Trig Palin. The filing asks for joint legal custody of the child.

Why are all the males on FR assuming that it’s Sarah’s fault?

Maybe Sarah is sick of Todd’s shit. He may be experiencing a midlife crisis as, unfortunately, most men do.

Usually I agree with your posts, but not this one.

Men don’t age as well as women. They become sickly and run after every younger woman they see.

I never said men age better.

Testosterone kills men

Given the low levels in post boomer generations those boys will likely catch up to y’all

Women lose interest in sex before men do....in my generation

I realize freeper women will say not I.....I can only go on what I’ve seen and experienced my entire life

I know one exception...

A lot of men never lose sex drive, this is why so many old widowers remarry and old widow women don’t

The women don’t need a man

The old men do need a woman

This is not new but it’s a major factor in later in life divorces

And it’s not for younger more supple women..that’s a canard frequently

Men want a woman who’s emotionally available and intimate....it’s not just the sex act..this is something women seem to never grasp

Big shock men want to be wanted desired and loved and shagged ...even when we’re old

Many women older just don’t care about all that. Is what I see..

And no I’m not talking precisely about me although I admit when I look at my wife I still see her as late 20s CMT vid babe in a thong on an adult beach in Florida in her late 20s

She of course doesn’t see herself like that

I saw it happen to my dad....after 35 years of monogamy and providing my mom a great life....the door shut the year before he died and he was distraught with hurt..

It was pitiful

My mother in law....same thing and early on...mid 40s

Several other female relatives as recounted to me by uncles etc as adults ...
My peer group of over 50 married men.....this is a very common theme

Witty women here will retort that oh yeah buster maybe they just don’t want sex with these husbands

Ad absurdim retort ..

All these men can’t be jerks

I’ve seen women here scorn viagara cause it’s made this worse...

The way I see if is this

Women learn early on that sex is a tool for punishment and reward and it can become a power position....

Fine..

Later when for whatever reason women lose the desire and pull it back then they had better not pull back emotional availability and intimacy along with the sex

That’s what drives otherwise decent men to stray.

To be fair you can also say a man who doesn’t tend to her needs is open to her straying too....for sure

Do some men quit wanting sex at some point..yes but much later..or when they die or become incapacitated

Another poster basically told me to just ignore these realities for the sake of kids

Like I said so far it’s not an issue for me...and given my bad heart I’ll for sure not outlive my drive and desires

But honestly I’m not sure my wife would remarry and she’s only 53....54 last week....I’m almost 62

Not cause I’m so great but cause she doesn’t really need a man at this point she’s just stuck with one for 25 years and counting

She’s said it precisely “ I’ve got my sons and daughters ans two grandsons who are babies and her two male uncut Rottweilers and a nice house with acreage and horses and plenty of money especially if I’m dead....what do I need a man for now...I’ll just go to yoga more..

Those are her words precisely

Folks are living longer and that makes all this more an issue and women don’t go all fat and blue hair and frumpy ..like in my church youth in the 60s

At least not in the south for upper middle class women

What about a drug for post menopausal women and desire....well to be honest....would women want it

Cause then comes pressure to stay looking good

Tell me it isn’t complicated...

I know girls here think husbands should just quit worrying about sex when wifey quits .

That’s a tall order

Women have been fed so much crap no matter y’all hate the realities ...my favorite lie is a woman’s sexual peak in forties...

Bull ...a woman’s sexual peak is when she is consumed with wanting a baby inside her....they will run a man ragged...I know trust me on this one....that’s not to say girls are not more powerful sexually than men....they are infinitely .

If their mind is clear

Anyhow...sorry to rant....like I said I’m commenting on what I see..
I will likely die early and not have to deal with it

My wife however imperfect like myself is a good sport and understands boys and stays in great shape ...but most of my peers ...don’t have such luck

Why not?

She seems controlling, loud, needs to be right all the time...

A regular itchy witch.

As ever, I am days behind 🙄 But! That speech was Amazing. Sarah was such a breath of fresh political air - a true representative as the Founders envisioned. Then the Enemedia began their onslaught. So sorry that she and Todd have decided to part. Wishing better times ahead for them both. Tatt

Well, I'm not assuming anything - it's an old saying. But, Todd strikes me as a kinda low-profile, stay-at-home-and-leave-the-world-alone kind of guy who just wanted a normal family life instead of attention-whoring kind of guy. Unlike some of the the rest of his brood (ahem). And if that's what he wants - I wish him the best attaining it. I can't think of anyone who deserves it more.

Wow, wardaddy, that was quite a post. I’ve seen the pictures of your wife in your about section and you are indeed quite lucky. I am quite lucky in that regard as well. I am 60 and my wife is 59. Even at 59 she is so interested in sex that I sometimes have a hard time keeping up. She has never had children so I don’t know if that makes a difference. She does ride her horses every day, though, and some folks suggest that the physical nature of that activity keeps a woman’s juices flowing. Anyway, I think it’s very difficult to generalize about such things. I do wish Todd and Sarah well. I’m guessing neither will remain unattached for long.

That’s great for you.
I wish more women had her attitude

Most guys our age who are getting a lot of intimacy have a girlfriend or younger wife

Raising kids is a stress at times

Being pregnant just made my wife more loving to be honest...her hormones

Hormones are everything for women and men

Given how young white men look today many could use a shot in the butt every week

Thanks for the kind words...

A close pal of mine is older and a former marine colonel

His wife at around 50 quit wanting sex....just not interested anymore thanks anyhow

He fretted for a few years then met a professional career married woman in her forties with the same problem he had.

They’ve been doing weekly rendezvous and little trips together for over 15 years now...neither wants to destroy their families and their needs are met and appreciated

Life is complicated

We have horses ....she doesn’t ride though..

Hmmm..maybe she needs a pony lol

The love for Palin dies hard huh?

Gonna be honest, as someone who followed her career before most freepers outside Alaska had heard of her and was THRILLED when was named VP running mate, my opinion of her has tanked and while I can’t blame myself for being enamored of her in the past with the information I had at the time, I think that was clearly a mistake.

Beginning with her quitting as Governor (”She had to” No, shut up with that spin) and her fake attention-seeking flirting with running in 2012. Her unforgivable endorsement of the democrat for Governor in 2014 for petty reasons. And while overall she was a good Governor that that brief time she was Governor, her pet oil tax? That was bad.

I don’t think she’s particularly bright, President? Forget it. I’m glad President Trump has had little to do with her and not that she’s interested but I think running for Senate in AZ would be almost as stupid as running Sheriff Joe. She’s a joke to the wider electorate.

Anyway, divorce huh? That’s too bad. The special needs kid is what, 11? Best wishes for the family.

So you would advise her to continue and go bankrupt from new lawsuits until it financially destroyed her and her family?

Good grief....

One can't forget about the money difference, because it was the fact OF the money difference that made the lawfare against Palin possible in the first place.

Transfer that argument against General Flynn. Mueller went after Flynn to the point that he had to sell his home. After that, they threatened to bankrupt his son and that's when Flynn "quit" fighting and pleaded guilty.

Knowing what we know now, was Flynn a "quitter?" Knowing what we know now about how far liberals will go to destroy someone in their way, should Palin have stuck it out to the very last dollar, to the point that she would have had to sell her home, too?

Do you think Flynn was guilty? That answers the question as to whether he should have pled guilty or not.

I reject the premise of your question. I think that line is propaganda from the Palin camp to justify her running away.

Were the charges without merit? Then find a pro-bono attorney and fight.

The case isn't over yet, so no it doesn't answer the question, but you deflected mine quite nicely.

Did you think Palin was guilty of what she was being charged with? She resigned rather than be targeted with new charges.

Flynn didn't think he was guilty of lying to the FBI, or he wouldn't have defended himself for so long. The FBI agents didn't think he was guilty, but Mueller prosecuted him anyway, right? That was in the news, right? It wasn't until they bankrupted him that he changed his plea.

So, do you think Flynn was a "quitter" or did he just try to stop the lawfare from ruining his family? Should Palin have ruined her family, or was she just trying to stop the lawfare?
