This is a great website that can be used as a resource by FReepers to debate wind energy. They lay out the damage to our environment and how gov't ignores the very people who supported "green" power.
Whoa. That’s a lot of information to digest. Thanks for posting.
Looks like a good site, but its Australian. We need an American resource. Not anything against an Australian site, but because some of the information is not as relevant to us.
Thanks for the reference, Wind power blows.
ping for later
There is an English study which showed Wind Mills did not reduce Green House Gases. The reason is a power plant needs to be idling to pick up any drop in wind mill output. Large power plants cannot be started like a car, they can take hours or days to heat up and produce electricity.
You will have to take this up with the good folks of Texas. Wind has generated 22% of the state’s electrical needs this year. It just edged out coal, which provided 21% of the Lone Star State’s power.

I HATE the damn things!
Chinese monstrosities! Unsightly! Noisy! A blight on EVERY landscape they are erected! Destructive of the environment! Butt ugly!
Good to know that there are people out there fighting to eliminate them!

Interesting. Also interesting is the fact that the average cost per kwh in Texas increased 5.9% from 2018 to 2019, topped only by North Carolina’s 6.6%. Many states saw decreases due to the drop in the cost of fossil fuels. The rate in Texas is still reasonable, but the more they go with renewables, the higher the rate will go.
Generally, countries that have the highest percentage of renewable generation also have the highest charges per kwh.
