Vice President Pence was greeted by a series of rainbow flags this week as he arrived in Reykjavik to meet with President Guðni Jóhannesson of Iceland.
Pence met with Jóhannesson on Wednesday at Hofdi House, across the street from the IT company Advania, which had lined its entrance with several rainbow flags, according to The Guardian.
And a nearby office housing the headquarters for the Efling trade union swapped out the flags typically flying outside to display rainbow ones.
We just felt the need to celebrate diversity today and wanted to show that by flying the flags, Ægir Már Þórisson, Advanias director, told the news outlet Iceland Monitor.
Photos of Pences meeting with Jóhannesson show the president wearing a rainbow bracelet on his right hand, which was visible when he shook hands with Pence.

Eliza Reid, Icelands first lady, also wore a rainbow bracelet for the occasion.
The Guardian noted that Jóhannesson also wore the bracelet when he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Pence has drawn criticism from gay rights groups for his positions on LGBTQ issues. As governor of Indiana, Pence signed a religious freedom law that was criticized as a pathway to legal anti-LGBTQ discrimination. When Pence was a member of Congress, he supported a constitutional amendment opposing same-sex marriage.

Would it kill you guys at the Hill to correct an outright lie?
Is there a less diverse country on earth than Iceland?
Conan met with the Property Brothers, real estate specialists, to discuss buying Greenland.
They suggested buying Iceland too, because it would make a great mother in law apartment.
It’s ironic... around the world, homosexual activists vilify poor ol’ Mike Pence for failing to sufficiently get on their bandwagon. Meanwhile, in dozens of countries, homosexual acts are punishable by imprisonment or death, and their leaders apparently are of little or no concern to these creeps. Are these LGBT pervs out raising hell when leaders from Indonesia or Morocco or Singapore or Pakistan visit?
Its nice to see you celebrate Gods covenant with man, Iceland! It warms my heart!
If I show up to Iceland with a tan, am I diverse enough for the libtards ?

Hahahah - Conan is one funny dude. I love watching his specials where he travels in different countries. The Italy one had my on the floor laughing.
Queers everywhere
That’s because this isn’t really about queers, it’s about communists.
Pence should simply say “Thank you for greeting me with flags showing your Christian beliefs” and watch the commie’s flame out.
Let’s hope no one tries to poison him there like they did Robert Spencer.
Yup. I’m proud to be of Italian descent. You wont see this faggotry in Sicily. Ireland has become totally evil with homo crap, abortion and anti Chrisian garbage.
What would you call someone that tries to Force their deviant behavior onto others?? Tyrant? Bigot? Dictator? I just see them as Pathetic and Full of Hate.
I believe the rainbow flag is oppressive and should not be allowed in public.
They’re trying to get Pence to make a statement critical of homosexuality, so that the Left can create a hashtag and fundraise off of it and demonize evangelicals in general. That’s why Mayor Pete has been attacking Pence non-stop.
You’re 110% right about Ireland. The country has gone down the tubes. I’d change my FR username but after 18 years, oh well...
