I agree with your assessment. Trump may also draw more fire but that is also a plus for him and the other ballot candidates.
It's dangerous. There's already a problem that both political parties rig the results. Only a force of nature like President Trump could overwhelm it. No primaries this time would set a real dangerous precedent.
Most Presidential primaries occur concurrent with primaries for lesser offices. How will taking the Presidential race off the ballot impact the turnout for the lesser races.
I would expect primary turnout will be less. But will it be less for Trump supporters or challengers? Consider the primaries where the incumbent is retiring. Whose turnout will be hurt the most?
I must admit I hadnt considered that. That does make more sense.
I heartily agree with that.
Good. And the defiant jackasses must be exiled.
I am in a state (Alabama) where one does not register by party. I don’t want the state to start doing so, either. My state is like a lot of other states that does not require party registration.
You are asked during a primary vote whether you want a Republican 9r democrat ballot.
However, the Presidential candidates are on a ballot that also includes Congress and local elections, too, so I don’t think they can cancel the primary.
Nice.
For once, the GOP gets it right.

I don’t look at as “the state” knowing what my party registration is - whether that is incidentally true or not.
I look at primary elections as ALL ABOUT the parties. I look at primary elections as the means by which the parties get their candidate selected to run in the general election (as opposed to simply being chosen by the party elite). I don’t see it as a problem if someone not registered to a party, to any party, is unable to vote in a primary election for the partisan offices (as opposed to general ballot questions). I do see it as outside interference when persons not registered to a party vote in that parties primary. It robs those who are in fact part of that party of votes that should only be theirs.
If there are “primary” and non-primary questions to be voted on at the same time, two kinds of ballots should be issued. It is much easier to NOT confuse the issue, and not mix primary matters and other matters on the same ballot. Usually the other matters are not so urgent they cannot wait till the general election.
If he keeps winning, why fight him?
In utter and complete dissagreememt with the first few posters this is not a show of support for Trump.
This is an attempt to deplatform Trump’s primary platform for displaying his support for Senate and House candidates in the Republican primaries.
The Democrats lie, cheat and break the law just for their nominee. Republicans actively oppose the re-election of their partys leader.
Trump files a lawsuit against new California election law that requires his tax returns
Yeah this is what I’m wondering about - There are some republican uniparty types that probably need flushing. Its time for a purge - I’m not sure this helps

Thanks

“The Democrats lie, cheat and break the law just for their nominee. Republicans actively oppose the re-election of their partys leader.”
They may lie and cheat but they never blocked a candidate on the ballot, although there were no debates as best I can remember. There were 8 states who held primaries for the Dems according to qualifications. I seriously doubt even one of these clowns will make it to the Republican primary, but we can at least be better than the Dems in 2016.
