At about 4:10 p.m., 26 August 2019, a suspect wearing a hoodie enters a MetroPCS cell phone store in Philadelphia, PA. The store and employees have been the victim of several robberies. On the alert, the employee watches the suspect intently as he enters the store, carrying a handgun in his left hand. The suspect throws a bag to the employee and tells him to fill it with cell phones. The employee sees his chance.
The employee makes the decision to draw and engage the robber. He brought his sights on target, and the robber realized his peril. The video is stopped by CBS3 at that point.
As seen in the video, it only takes a second of inattention from the robber for a defender to take decisive action. The robber telegraphed his intentions by wearing a hoodie on a 75-degree day in late August. He came in with a handgun in his left hand, and a bag in his right hand. The employee was watching him intently, with his left hand near his holstered handgun.
The employee immediately understood what was happening and the deadly threat he faced. He did not spend time in denial of what was happening. He processed and accepted what was going on very quickly and formulated a plan of action. Given the circumstances, it is highly likely the employee had considered various scenarios, had decided on various what if courses of action long before this robbery attempt occurred. Presented with reality, he only needed to pick a response and implement it.

Totally amazing level of vigilance and action:
Perfect..?
In the course of doing his job in that neighborhood, the employee obviously had previously encountered unsavory types whose suspicious actions sharpened this man’s instincts.
He was so good I wonder if he was an IPSC shooter, the only thing lacking from the vid is that little electronic “go” tone:
Just WOW.
As my Daddy would say “Pay that man bounty and buy him more bullets!”
Back in late July we had a heat wave in my neck of the woods. For about a week, it was in the 90s, with (IIRC) one day in which it went above 100 in the afternoon.
On one of those days, I had to drive through the medium-size city that's near my home. At one point on the drive, I passed an African-American male, wearing a hoodie. It was in the upper 90s at the time, with the sun out. The hoodie was pulled over this gentleman's head, and was dark-blue in color. He was walking toward me, on my side of the road; this was a road through a relatively undeveloped area, with no sidewalk and a weed-filled field to my right.
He was just walking along. I don't think he was carrying anything. He did look up as I went past, but really in just a normal way, making sure I wasn't going to come too close to him.
The incident really stuck in my mind. It must have been hotter than hell in that hoodie, but he had it up over his head like it was a day in January. Are hoodies some kind of statement? Is it a Colin Kaepernick kind of thing?
The clerk was good. I’m glad he’s alive.
Practice, practice, practice...
Commie DA Larry Krasner is probably all over this one as we speak, looking for some way, any way to bust the clerk.

I sometimes wear a hoodie up to protect from sun exposure even if its hot. A better choice would be wide brimmed hat but you make do sometimes with what you have on.
I saw this video uncut a few days ago. Glad he wasn’t charged.
Hope the criminal’s family doesn’t come after him in civil court.
Maybe was all he owned, I guess.
If he doesn't do something, next thing you know it'll be open season on armed robbers.
Agreed, at least two people commenting apparently were able to see the whole video and for some strange reason have chosen to leave the rest of us out of the picture.
The uncut version was better, but I think the robber's homies would have been inflamed.
The bad guy fell with the gun and his hand not visible and the clerk just kept shooting, since the threat might not have been over.
I’m looking through my history for the link I used.
I saw this on another thread.
He emptied his gun. The perp must have been Swiss Cheese.

Yeah, the full video has been on Twitter for some time now. Long enough for the liberals to start whining about excessive force. Lost another potential voter.
Your point about him aiming high and then bringing the pistol down to fire reminds me of an interview I saw years ago with a WWII veteran talking about the M1911 as a sidearm. He was instructed to do the same thing in his Army firearms training and said if you aimed it that way “you couldn’t miss”. Other than that I don’t think I’ve ever heard that piece of advice. But this video would seem to confirm its efficacy.
I saw it before but can’t find the whole video any where. I think I saw it on twitter but I’m sure. They probably took it down.
Bump
I love these stories with a happy ending! Thanks for sharing!
