Johnson has vowed to deliver Brexit on October 31 “deal or no deal.”

Parliament is bracing for a showdown when it meets for the first time after the summer recess on Tuesday.

Opposition lawmakers aim to pass a law demanding the government either negotiate a new divorce deal with the EU, or request a Brexit extension beyond the October 31 deadline. …

Somebody with a backbone who knows how to play hardball. Sadly is far too late for Jim Sessions to learn anything. What a shame.

And if they approached their withdrawal like this from day 1 they would have gotten a pretty good deal to exit. But instead they begged EU for a deal and got taken to the cleaners.

Thanks Olog-hai. IOW, support Brexit, or send the UK into a turmoil, and end your own political careers.

Good! The Tory Party needs an enema just like the Republican Party did.

well leave agrees to evertyhing in the November 2018 deal except the way to resolve the Irish border problem.

1. the border has to be open - as per the good friday agreements
2. yet the UK wants to take back control of its borders and monitor what comes in or out

The only resolution would be ideally a 1-country-2-systems approach for NI to be part of the customs union with the republic (remember NI voted nearly 60% to stay in the EU) and still be politically part of the UK.

But that couldn’t happen due to the 2017 general election which made the tories dependent on the DUP (democratic unionist party)
