FULL TITLE: Mystery over identity of 'white male' shooter as Texas police withhold name before reported noon announcement
Authorities in Texas have still not released the name of the gunman or type of firearm that was used after a rampage that left at least seven dead and 19 injured.
The shooting occurred in and around the cities of Odessa and Midland, Texas. The only information that has been released about the shooter, who was killed by police, is that he is a white male in his mid-30s.
The gunfire erupted in the late afternoon after the suspect shot an officer who had pulled him over and fled. The gunman continued shooting and hijacked a U.S. Postal vehicle to a local movie theater where a shootout with police took place. It was initially thought that there were two suspects, sending cities into lockdown mode, although police later said that there was only one gunman, who was killed.
Some on Twitter wondered why the shooter's identity has not yet been released.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think this guy was all spun-up, and he might have killed another person or two back at his house/apartment before he went on this rampage.

This kind of shit is what makes people suspicious and non trusting of the government. Maybe they are still trying to notify his next of kin but at least tell us that, tell us exactly what happened as far as who was shot and when, they should at least know that by now.
Perhaps they just want to make sure his residence is secured, no one gets tipped off and no evidence gets removed before he is named.
The authorities can publish all the details about this piece of human garbage without ever mentioning his name. Do not give him even one brief second of fame. What good does the name do anyway. Call him the Odessa Murderer or the Texas Shooter. Something anonymous so that he is forever denied the notoriety he sought. Let him rot in obscurity.
Takes time to establish the facts, investigate connections. From what I have seen, it is much more convenient to shoot from an open mail truck.
What normal person drives down the road with that much firepower ready to use unless it is pre-planned.

Someone on another thread suggested that police new who he was and used the turn signal as a pretext to stop and grab him but it went south.

Police say they pulled him over for not using his turn signal. I ain’t buying it! They probably pulled him over because they received intel from family member or neighbor about carrying a rifle in his vehicle.
The guy was pulled over by a two-trooper state police car.
Don’t suppose the police made a mistake or something? Maybe need to do some covering?
