But still, the number of perps has changed from two to one then I read the “update” at 5:55 PM said 1 dead shooter AND 1 suspect in custody,
Then it became 2 incidents which may or may not have been connected.
Then it became, the shooting started because police were pursuing a wanted suspect.

One would think that a ‘normal’ white boy with a warrant would have headed for the nearest rock to crawl under and stayed there for a while until things cooled off, ‘specially after shooting at the patrol vehicle through his rear window without stopping for the traffic stop. To shoot at the cops, and then go on a random spree littered with bullet breadcrumbs leading right to his end-goal, the shopping center, seems a little touched in the head even for a convict.
another story update, E. P., at 7:40pm, makes one wonder if these are early arrivals for the ‘get-woke’ event scheduled to start tomorrow or just coincidence. Haven’t heard Odessa talked about in decades, kinda weird to hear of two instances of trigger-happy drivers in one day. Maybe that college needs a pre-dawn room search? (Is it even in session yet??):
UPDATE 7:50 p.m.: “ Odessa College reports gunfire near the campus at 7:10 p.m. when an automobile “rammed an ECISD Police Department car near campus.” Gunfire was reported immediately after the crash. “The suspect has been detained and there is no ongoing threat to the campus or the community,” college officials stated. Odessa College officials told Breitbart Texas they cannot say if this incident is related to the ongoing Midland-Odessa shooting earlier in the day.”

My 2 cents worth, this was not a routine traffic stop. They knew who this guy was when they stopped him. They knew he was dangerous so the probable cause to stop him was not using a turn signal. Really?? On I -20.

In another life I knew a couple truck drivers that were running cocaine into NYC. They were being watched and followed. When they didn’t make their contact in NYC they drove back to Jersey towards a truck stop . They were “stopped” on the interstate for the same thing. Rig was searched and the dope “found”.This is how they do it. Did you here the officer yesterday, he said a white male in his 30’s, then he said I think I know who he is but I won’t say till we know for sure. They knew who he was before they ever stopped him.

DPS is Department of Public Safety in Texas. I’m not Texan but I think it’s a melding of State Police and Fire Departments in other states would be.
Ok, today’s report says the cops went after the now-dead guy, and he began FIRING OUT HIS REAR WINDOW WHILE DRIVING and actually SHOT a couple of cops ....because...wait for it...the perp TURNED LEFT WITHOUT SIGNALLING!!
ANNNND the police chief now informs us he REFUSES to identify the perp! Perp’s motive?? Still no clue!!

don’t know if you caught the latest but heard that not only did the employer call the fbi but the perp called the fbi on himself! So, yes, no turn signal was an excuse, but in hindsight it was the best excuse LEO had at the time.
As to motive, disgruntled fired employee, career loser, shooting it up on the way to shoot his former boss. Not sure if being a Beto supporter had any weight in his decision - a martyr for gun control in his own head, maybe? Did a little research on his family name - from first appearance in Illinois in the 1880s until the 60’s the average age at death of his kin was 40. He was 37. Maybe that was significant to him in some way?

Today’s news (I forgot to save the link) says investigators are searching the dead perp’s tin shack, described like one of those Jeff Foxworthy “Redneck Yard of the Week” winners.
Interestingly, the reporter noted a car in the yard with its **rear windshield smashed or shot out.**
So ...was this a different car? Or did cops have the death car towed back to the dead (or so we’re told) guy’s home? And why would they do that?
Wild coincidence? A staged event—black ops? Or just incompetent, confusing reportage?
Raises questions!
