A comprehensive study 100 times the sample size of any previous study (about 470,000 people) -- shows that "born that way" is a myth. From the article: "there no 'gay gene' and genetic factors are insignificant in determining sexual orientation....This means that non-genetic factors, including environment, upbringing, personality, and nurture are far more significant in influencing a person's choice of sexual partner, just as with most other personality, behavioral and physical human traits, according to the researchers."

There is, however, a Free Will gene.
Everyone has it.

I thought that was settled 20 years ago.

Seem to recall the homos panicked that parents would have babies aborted if detected to be defective. Was the end of a search for detectable homo tendencies, or something.

A gay gene wouldn’t make sense.

Well; I’m glad that’s settled. Does this mean Gay’s don’t get any special protections now since they weren’t born that way like being black?

A twin study had a different conclusion.

[One of the genes, which sits on chromosome 13, is active in a part of the brain called the diencephalon. Interestingly, this brain region contains the hypothalamus, which was identified in 1991 as differing in size between gay and straight men. This was discovered by neuroscientist Simon LeVay, who says he is excited that the gene discovery seems to fit with what he found.

Other research has found that this gene, called SLITRK6, is active in the hypothalamus of male mice fetuses a few days before they are born. “This is thought to be a crucial time for sexual differentiation in this part of the brain,” says LeVay. “So this particular finding is a potential link between the neuroanatomy and molecular genetics of sexual orientation.

What is the other gene?
This gene is found on chromosome 14 and is mainly active in the thyroid, but also the brain. Called TSHR, it makes a type of receptor protein that recognises and binds to a hormone that stimulates the thyroid. In this way, the gene plays an important role in controlling thyroid function.

The fact that TSHR seems to be involved in sexual orientation fits with evidence that thyroid function seems to be linked to sexuality. For instance, TSHR function is disrupted in a genetic condition called Grave’s disease, which causes the thyroid gland to become over-active, accelerating metabolism and leading to weight-loss. Grave’s disease is more common in gay than straight men, and some research suggests that gay men tend to be thinner – which might possibly be a result of thyroid overdrive.]

The fact that Down Syndrome is correlated with an extra copy of chromosome 21 was discovered in 1959. It’s possible that the abnormality responsible for homosexuality is a lot more subtle. As it stands, we don’t have have a cure for Down Syndrome. Even if we discovered what chromosomal abnormality causes homosexuality, it’s not clear this cause could be remedied any more than Down Syndrome.

There Is No ‘Gay Gene,’ Comprehensive Scientific Study Finds

Well how could there be? It doesn't take much mother wit to understand that gays who by default do not procreate will not pass along their genes. Even if it happened once long ago it would have long since been a self limiting anomaly.

When I was in elementary school in California the cool
guys all wore LEVIS 501s which were made in SF and cost
about $5. The uncool guys wore JC Penneys Foremost
jeans which were half the cost of LEVIS. If your
family had the $ and you had the influence over mom
then you went to school wearing LEVIS. I recall battles
with my mom who wasn’t about to spend that kind of $ on
jeans. The wars ended for good when I became old enough
to spend my own money on $7.50 LEVIS. I did get her
to peg my LEVIS on her sewing machine when that style
was popular for a while.

Eventually, the SF gays convinced LEVI to quit funding
United Way which provided $ for the Boy Scouts which
was deemed anti gay. I was well into adulthood by
then so I quit purchasing LEVI products.

The moral of this story is there IS a connection
between genes and jeans.

Same-sex attraction disorder is induced by the trauma of a molestation or seduction in the pre-adult years.

Although I hate to associate it in any way with conduct on the battlefield, it has three similarities to PTSD: it is induced by a trauma; only some who suffer the trauma develop the disorder; and the trauma knocks you off kilter with great emotional violence. The victim has no choice in that.

It is different in that many different kinds of trauma can induce PTSD, while only the trauma of a molestation or seduction in the pre-adult years induces SSAD.

Homosexuality is not a “lifestyle” or a “choice.” SSAD in men is a serious disorder that manifests as a compulsion to engage in pseudo-sexual practices (correctly described by G. K. Chesterton as “loathsome perversions”) with other males, combined with a fixation on youth. Note the word “compulsion.” It seems to be such a strong compulsion that it inevitably erupts into action, even if only during an annual visit to the boy brothels of Thailand.

If you ever have the chance, discuss this with a man who suffers from SSAD. He will at first deny it, but if you pursue the matter, and if he hangs around instead of fleeing, you will sooner or later uncover a seduction or molestation in the pre-adult years.

The victim will probably have rationalized the trauma such that he believes he was already homosexual when it happened, and the perpetrator merely helped him “explore his sexuality.”

If you get to the point that he is asking if he had never allowed the predator to nail him in the keister—or had never been raped by the predator, whichever—that he would never have become homosexual, you will see in his face what the Greeks were trying to copy in their masks of Tragedy.

The good choice at this point is to seek treatment. Since the victim is surrounded by so many lying voices glorifying his suffering, it’s not likely that this road will be chosen.

As with any mental disorder, same-sex attraction disorder can fall anywhere on a spectrum from very mild to very severe. The frequency with which the victim acts out his compulsions, therefore, also varies greatly.

It can also spontaneously change in intensity with the passage of time. Some men decide to go straight after years of believing themselves to be “gay,” while some married men find that their disorder no longer allows them to remain married.

Once we start seeing SSAD for what it is, it seems more tragic than complicated.

Sexual preferences are 100% learnt through puberty. There are numerous evidence to it. The gene idea is unscientific Lysenkoism at its worst.

Of the adult gay men I know, 100% were raped or otherwise molested by a man as children.

People get outright militant when you bring up scientific facts. They’ll scream that you’re entitled to your opinion. Only it’s not opinion, it’s fact.

We knew that. This, like all other inconvenient truths, will be ignored by the media.

PS. There was no need to do any study. A gene that causes the person to NOT reproduce, is a gene that is not passed to the next generation. This is elementary and obvious.

And apparently no x or y chromosome either.
If they found a hay gene aborting a gay mass of cells would be illegal. They would never allow truth to get in the way of their real agenda.
