Philip Hammond has said that MPs will move against the Government to stop no deal next week, and cannot wait until the scheduled debate on Brexit in late September.

Under the timetable set out by Boris Johnson, Parliament will not debate Brexit or the upcoming Queen's speech until October 21 and 22.

Mr Hammond said he had "always made clear that I am not interested in bringing down the Government" but that he wanted the Government to acknowledge that "the majority is opposed to a no deal Brexit.”

Remoaners are running out of options fast, it will now be too late for a vote of no confidence to unseat Boris before Brexit legally happens. Brexit is happening whether they like it or not.

Prorogue?

I never heard that word before.

I bet most of us haven’t.

I had to look it up. All the former colonies have it Wiki Prorogation (pronounced /ˌproʊrəˈɡeɪʃən/) marks the end of a parliamentary session. It is the formal name given to the period between the end of a session of the UK Parliament and the State Opening of Parliament that begins the next session. Prorogation of one session of Parliament in recent decades has usually been followed by the opening of a new session a few days later.[1] The parliamentary session may also be prorogued before Parliament is dissolved. The power to prorogue Parliament belongs to the Monarch as part of the Royal Prerogative, on the advice of the Privy Council,[2] but is not usually turned down if requested by the prime minister.

So this is what the Brit media were screeching about yesterday. I caught the gist of it but this helps a lot. Stand by for some world-class outrage.

Correct. The Queen may do it on the advice of the PM, or against the advice of the PM.

Now...it may trigger everyone to get hostile and try to pass some vote to remove this power, but I doubt that it’d pass, or even be considered by the House of Lords.

Behind all of this, I would suggest that another national election likely occurs before December. Neither the Tories or the Labour folks may like that idea.

2 1/2 years after voting to leave the EU, Britain is no closer to leaving than the day before they took the vote.

They actually do it every year around this time, some weeks before the Queen’s Speech. It’s sort of like Congress going on recess. This is fake hysteria.

They Remain crowd will stop at nothing to ensure the UK’s servitude to global socialism.

The EU is one step away from disintegration if the UK can leave cleanly and thrive.

The remainiacs are melting down, “it’s a coup!!” - stating the “democracy is in danger!”...with the irony lost on them that they’re the ones trying to stop Brexit, a democratically decided action.

It’s not the same thing. Parliament is already in recess. Proroguation refers to ending a parliamentary session before setting up a new one with a new government legislative agenda as set out by a new Queens Speech. The current session has been on going since June 2017, the longest session, ironically enough, since the English civil war, so it is long overdue, making remoaners screams about this move being “unconstitutional” laughable.

discontinue a session of (a parliament or other legislative assembly) without dissolving it.

Most likely not, unless they follow parliamentary styled governments. Now we have though. 8>)
