It’s not the same thing. Parliament is already in recess. Proroguation refers to ending a parliamentary session before setting up a new one with a new government legislative agenda as set out by a new Queens Speech. The current session has been on going since June 2017, the longest session, ironically enough, since the English civil war, so it is long overdue, making remoaners screams about this move being “unconstitutional” laughable.
Thanks for clarifying! I did read that it had already been one of the longest sessions ever and that there was no basis for the shrieking of unconstitutional and the general hysteria.
