In the shameless shambles that is Morning Joe, they can report on Ilhan Omar -- but only the parts where they think Republicans look ridiculous.
On today's show, Joe Scarborough, with an assist from Eugene Scott of the Washington Post, whom the paper's official bio describes as a "reporter covering identity politics," criticized the Alabama Republican Party for adopting a resolution calling for the expulsion of Omar from Congress.
Scarborough approvingly cited Omar's tweet in response to the resolution, in which she mockingly noted the 2016 Senate nomination of Roy Moore. Scarborough also quoted Scott to the effect that the Alabama GOP "get its own house in order before throwing stones." Scott weirdly said "It was a fascinating statement from the Alabama Republicans accusing the representative of using anti-Semitic language." It's just an accusation that Omar's used anti-Semitic language??

But what of the latest controversies swirling around Omar? Not merely the fact that the married Omar is reportedly having an affair with a married man. That might be tawdry, but what is more concerning are the indications that she has been funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars to her new boyfriend for consulting fees and travel expenses, in possible violation of campaign-finance laws.
The allegations are serious enough that even NBC, Morning Joe's parent network, was obliged to report them online. But when it came to that story, a veritable swarm of crickets descended on the Morning Joe set today.

How could any decent news show discuss Ilhan Omar today without mentioning the latest controversies concerning her?
Trick question: we said “decent!”
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Wow, “Joe” from “Morning Joe” sure is bending over backwards, to prove to Mika that he is liberal.
Who listens to Morning Joe? Doesn’t Rachael Madcow and Ellen Degenerate both have way bigger audiences?
The campaign finance law business will draw some attention. I don’t see how she survives this if the accusations are true. It’s a pretty stupid mistake to make.
We can look to the Alabama GOP for leadership and as a moral compass for Congress so we can rid the chambers of our congressional members who stray outside of their own marriage or someone else’s marriage or otherwise act in an unethical manner.
The reasons in no particular order are: She is a Democrat. 2. She is a muslim. 3. It is alleged that she is a woman.
It is legitimate for a state that elected an accused (not convicted) "child molester" to call for the removal of an admitted and proven sex pervert (incest).
Keep the fight dirty.
We're done being nice.
Morning Joe is a no brainer...literally.
Leave it to Joe to stand up for a corrupt whore.
So this is what Muslim women are like? No wonder their men keep them under cover, its the only way they can keep them from spreading their legs for every man who comes along. Illegitimate kids with one man, marriage to her brother, divorce, marries the father of her children, has affair with another man.....WOW.
HOORAY Alabama GOP! Pushing back against anti-Americans living lies, spewing lies.
Joe likes sluts wonder if this on will die in his office?.
Joe is always full ‘tard.
‘Morning Joe’? Actually, it should be ‘Morning Joke’...
...except no one is laughing WITH him, they laugh AT him but he is too dim to realize it.
