They, along with the other tech a-holes,will do this again at much more massive scale. They pretty much admit it. Why shouldn’t they? Who is going to stop them.DOJ or anyone else in the Deep State Swamp is worthless.

You are not familiar with Robert Epstein. He recently testified before Congress. He is a staunch Hillary supporter yet he is appalled at what his own meticulous research has uncovered.

Your own (and others on this thread) disbelief is one reason we are in so much trouble. Do yourself a favor and research his info for yourself. You might just be surprised. It is indeed a super threat to our Republic.

“I’m sorry but I don’t buy this, even a little”

++++

Me neither. They did EVERYTHING in 2015 to change the tide and no effect. And this is to change who’s minds when almost everyone is entrenched to either vote for Trump or not..

You cant change anyone’s minds right now..

Some maybe.

But 78m votes shifted is as crazy as Sundance claiming Trump would get 70m pop vote in 2016.

I do not have a high opinion of the strategic thinking of much of the voting public, which is easily influenced by some pretty ephemeral issues. Just bending the bias a little has an altogether disproportionate effect on the voting behavior of perhaps 30-40% of the voters, who tend to base opinion on emotion and not reasonable assumptions.

And one side is really good at manipulating emotions.

The numbers are nonsense.

I’m pretty sure that “ballot harvesting”, mail-in voting, etc. have far more impact than Google. That said, I’m expecting a brazen level of voter fraud in 2020 - maybe they’re trying to setup reasons to explain it.

When they limit casual access to information, people only get one side, or one cluster of sides of an issue.

Google and Facebook have published studies on identifying manipulable people and seeing what it takes to get them to succumb to peer pressure. A specific example was the release of the rainbow icon after the SCOTUS Gay Marriage ruling. That was done to track those characteristics, by seeing how the posting of the icon spread.

One of them got some grief a few years ago for a project to see what the effect of fat-shaming teen and preteen girls had on their ability to be manipulated.

Likewise, the 2012 Obama Campaign was bragging all over the place after the election how they had created targeted, detailed, tailored messaging for spreading their talking points, rally/parties, and for fund-raising (with the support of a lot of folks from Google). They’d develop numerous different versions for the same event, and send them to a precise target audience without any of the other subgroups being aware.

“Like” on Facebook? Click on certain links? You create a detailed psychological profile that they can design an attack. A LOT of people can be influenced through this sort of social engineering. We see variants of it in the mental health issues so many young people who spend a lot of time on social media have - and that’s largely from mere undirected interaction.

I’m sorry but I don’t buy this, even a little. Only morons would change their votes based on internet reports and most of those morons were liberals to start with because you don’t have to be rational to be a liberal.

It isn't just Internet reports. I live in Spain and vote by absentee ballot. When there was a special election, Karen Handel vs Jon Ossoff I was bombarded with ads for Osoff and never saw one ad for Handel. So Google and Facebook used info to target me. I obviously keep up with political events and activities but how many other voters who pay little attention get influenced by a flood of ads about a single candidate?

I think that is cited as top-end. It’s also cumulative.

I also note that this is for all levels of election. You don’t think 5-10 million people can be swayed to vote more or less party-line?

The headline number is typical media hype and does a disservice to Dr. Robert Epstein.

He gave a MINIMUM number of 2.4? million to Hillary in 2016.

Maybe as much as 12 million. Something like that, anyway.

It’s not a conscious choice that you make, you don’t even realize it is happening.

If you can’t see this is just media hype, then you must believe that Donald Trump is going to set off a nuclear device into the next hurricane and regrets putting sanctions on China.

Right or left, just tell the TRUTH.

I watched Mr. Epstein’s testimony before the Senate making the same claims. I didn’t believe them then and I still don’t.

I hope it doesn't come to it - but when Beto or Kamala or someone like that wins in 2020. Maybe you'll believe it.

The average search result "proving" Trump is a racist White Supremacist Hitler type has already affected millions of voters.

Even conservatives. Two weeks ago when Trump made overtures towards Red Flag Laws? How many FReepers when bat bleep crazy and said; "That's it. I'm done. Trump is toast."

All because of Google/MSM/Social media manipulations.

There is the misconception rumor pyramid effect. One reads negative propaganda on the net and then they convince others and those others convince even more others. They never fact check for themselves, they just trust these sources of the misconceptions.
