Column: Robert Mueller crushed their dreams, so Democrats pivot to race

What was the embittered left - Democratic presidential candidates and their media allies - supposed to do when their hopes of Russia-Trump collusion crashed on the boulevard of broken dreams?

They had invested so much in their fantasy that President Donald Trump was a treasonous agent of Russian boss Vladimir Putin. But when special counsel Robert Mueller’s report came out, and there was no collusion, no crime charged, their fantasy collapsed.

And so, after a brief spasm of despair, the left pivoted to their default position: race.

With Americans working and with money in their pockets again, with the 2020 election approaching, Democrats are reaching for the race card the way a sick man reaches for the waters of Lourdes. Desperately. Their allies in media followed suit, with Trump called everything from a white supremacist, to a Nazi, and on and on.

That's not why the NYT launched this "1619" project of theirs. They would have done so whether the Mueller fishing expedition had gone anywhere or not. Leftists are determined to re-write history and, more importantly, control public education so that future generations see things their way. They've had control of the public school system for decades, now they get to inject the propaganda from projects like the NYT's 1619 re-writing of history directly into the public school curriculum.

Here's the propaganda from the NYT along with tips on how to spread it, hosted by the Pulitzer Center, all ready for your local public school teacher to take it and feed it to your kids. Conservatives who really want to make a difference will stay involved with their local schools, attend PTA meetings, and do what they can to keep this kind of left-wing indoctrination out of the classroom. We can always pull our kids out of public school - we can't do the same for all of the kids our kids will grow up to share the US with as adults.

If we play a game of hide and seek but I tell you in advance where I will be hiding, are you going to act surprised and delighted when you locate me?

In at least two prominent recent examples, cynical Democrats have made their grand plans in plain sight. The first was Hillary and her staff making ludicrous claims about Russia and their ties to Trump. The Clintonites did it with the full knowledge that they had engineered the whole thing during the election and to provide an excuse for losing in case she might run again and to provide cover for those who acted on her behalf - many of them high ranking government officials. The entire ruse was even announced in a book by authors sympathetic to Clinton.

The second, as this column relates, is the media’s desperation to find an issue since its candidates a) all say identical things and b) attempt to sell socialism to a prosperous nation that doesn’t want it no matter how many times the question is asked. And so race is revived again. A ‘newspaper’ holds meeting to ignore news ie facts and events and plans to offer fabrications instead...arrogant enough to believe it can erase history.

But both plans - as well as many others - would be stillborn without the ignorance of the public, cultivated by cynics in ‘education.’ It’s not enough to say they have fostered emotion over reason...they have assembled a huge, unthinking mob. Making matters worse is that the mob believes it is an instrument of good. A mob that is convinced it can do no wrong even as it oppresses, subverts, depraves, steals, assaults, and even kills is better known as a cult.
