That’s pretty sick when you think about it.
I thought we’d be there for 2 years.
Great post.
And CNN is MSNBC in drag.
Ding ding ding. We have a winner. The middle east has been sought after for a long time, just more recently after WW1 when the British took the Ottomans and secured the oil. It’s abundant there. Not to even mention the opiate cultivating operation that was amped up after Desert Storm.
Shut up you neocon warmonger!
Im in full agreement. Let evil overrun the place. Nothing has changed there and nothing ever will.
we have always been at war with East Asia or something
She’s an idiot. She has forgotten the kinetic bomb that POTUS unleashed in his first year in Afghanistan that brought the Taliban crawling on their knees to the table.
We don’t need troops in Afghanistan. POTUS has weaponry at his disposal that is beyond frightening and he’s willing o use it.
Why do you think NK is so receptive to him?
The truth of the matter is that a worldwide network of current and former intel types with CIA as hub have used Afghanistan, Iran, NK as trigger points to start trouble and when they start the troubles the defense coffers open and the kickbacks get rolling. War is good business.
Unfortunately, the above business breeds traitors.
We had 28 years of evil idiots.
This way the little people can fight to keep a two tiered justice system.
Seriously I'm not supporting any more wars anywhere anymore - Comey, Clapper, Brennan, HRC , Susan Rice, McCabe,Obama all free as can be while Paul Manafort is in solitary confinement.
They try to steal the election we catch them and now its getting covered up - we are supposed to let our sons and daughters sign up to be cannon fodder in maintenance wars - no thank you
Here the proble, leave for 5 years and we’ll be back there in 7. The only solution to Afghanistan is to eradicate the entire population and be done with them. It always has and always will be a terrorist and drug exporting state! The Taliban and Al Quida will regroup and become a power that together with the Chinese will start the world domination process!
We gained total surrender by Germany and Japan, and we have been there ever since.
But staying in Afghanistan reminds, us we failed to gain total victory and surrender.
Following the two nukes that ended the War in the Pacific, we lost our common sense, and emberked on a “half-measured approach to future conflicts; Korea, Vietnam, etc.
The military, industrial, congressional complex wouldn’t have it ny other way.
What about the thought that we fight them and control them there instead of here?
Was it not the case that giving these particular bad guys harbor is what cost us two buildings in New York, a Pentagon in D.C., four commercial jets and thousands of innocent lives?
I am not saying you are wrong but these particular bad guys working in conjunction with Bin Ladin’s group really nailed us hard. Do you really want to take a chance to release it again?
We can always obliterate terrorist infrastructure with commando raids and bombing.
But, with no access to the sea and being dependent upon basing agreements with minimally friendly nations in the area, most of whom are overtly hostile, keeping US Ground Troops in Afghanistan is just plain stupid.
Even the Soviet Union with a direct land bridge could not sustain operations there.
They eventually realized there was absolutely nothing to gain and it was time to stop the bleeding.
This has been my attitude for years. Define the objective for the military then turn them loose. When they’re done give notice that if they give us reason to return we will but we are not staying to be picked off one by one and we’re not going to rebuild your damn country for you!
+1000
Liz, go nag Steve King some more for saying “insensitive” things, but spare us your neocon ravings.
I agree. Negotiate with the Taliban??? The friggin' Taliban???
Kill 'em all first. Then we can talk about things.
